While the United States was being swept up by disco mania in 1978, Foreigner issued another hard rock tour de force, Double Vision. It was unthinkable that the sextet could outdo its solid 1977 self-titled debut, but it somehow did. Lou Gramm and company issued another set of rock radio staples and rock-steady album tracks, the best-known being such perennial arena rockers as "Hot Blooded" and the title track. But the highpoints didn't just stop there - such oft-overlooked compositions as "Blue Morning, Blue Day", "Lonely Children", and "I Have Waited So Long" are just as strong. Double Vision solidified Foreigner's standing as a '70s rock sensation.

As one of the most popular California pop/rock bands of the '70s, The Doobie Brothers evolved from a mellow, post-hippie boogie band to a slick, soul-inflected pop band by the end of the decade. Along the way, the group racked up a string of gold and platinum albums in the U.S., along with a number of radio hits like "Listen to the Music", "Black Water", and "China Grove".

Milestones is a studio album by American jazz trumpeter and composer Miles Davis, recorded with his "first great quintet" augmented as a sextet. It was released in 1958 by Columbia Records. Tenor saxophonist John Coltrane's return to Davis' group in 1958 coincided with the "modal phase" albums: Milestones and Kind of Blue (1959) are both considered essential examples of 1950s modern jazz. Davis at this point was experimenting with modes – scale patterns other than major and minor.

Originally released in June 1972, the Eagles' self-titled debut played a significant role in changing the face of mainstream music while setting up a dominant run that's continued for nearly five decades. Produced by Glyn Johns, and home to three massive hits, Eagles established a cleverly restrained, Los Angeles-bred style that would sweep the country and position the group as superstars. Mastered from the original analog master tapes, Mobile Fidelity's numbered-edition hybrid SACD pays tribute to the record's merit and enhances the intimate program for generations to come. Playing with reference sonics that elevate an effort forever prized by audiophiles, this spectacular version provides a clear, clean, transparent, balanced, and intimate view of an album that permanently made California-style rock a style of its own.

The core lineup - Jeff Beck, Rod Stewart, Mickey Waller, Ron Wood – responsible for the groundbreaking performances Truth alone qualifies as a watershed accomplishment. That the 1968 landmark predated and impacted Led Zeppelin's debut; involved members of Led Zeppelin, The Faces, and The Who; continues to be cited by many experts as the blueprint for hard rock; and unspools with indescribable guitar wizardry and primal energy put it into rarefied territory. Among the most influential sets ever released, Beck's solo debut has never spoken with more truth than on this exceptional reissue.
