Mono NO Aware

Recorded at Pieater’s BellBird studio in Melbourne, the album came together over a three-year period, mostly in Melbourne, but pieces sketched all over. It was entirely written, recorded, produced and mixed by Tom Snowdon and Tom Iansek. No Mono and the pair’s debut record, "Islands part 1", is the culmination of years of songwriting and performances and draws broad influence, including from Snowdon's upbringing in the remote desert town of Alice Springs and his relationship to central Australia. It also oozes Tom Iansek's boundary-pushing production.

Presented as full length, beautifully orchestrated suites, one for each of the games included, Final Symphony II features the music of Final Fantasy V, VIII, IX and XIII, as performed by the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra and recorded inside the stunning Stockholm Konserthuset.

Over the past 20 years, Guy Sigsworth has helped shape some of the most iconic music of our generation. For the first time, the man behind the music steps into the limelight with the announcement of his first solo studio album, stet, out on Mercury KX on 8 March 2019. Celebrated worldwide for his work with the biggest names in music, the legendary songwriter, producer and songwriter has collaborated with global superstars including Björk, Britney Spears, Madonna, Imogen Heap, Robyn, Alanis Morissette and Alison Moyet. Sigsworth’s first solo record is entitled stet – an album title which particularly resonates with the multifaceted producer.

My influences for the music on this record were so sprawling, that there had to be some elements (apart from my brilliant band) to hold it all together as one cohesive sound. So fundamentally this is my love letter to the many beautiful Afro Brazilian rhythms that I have studied over the past few years.‘Terra Boa’ is Portuguese for ‘Good earth’. In respect to the vibrant and fertile musical landscape of Brazil. Good earth which nourished the growth of my own unique musical branches from strong and deep roots. The grooves are heavily influenced by Afro Brazilian rhythmic traditions, which along with contemporary jazz harmony and improvisation, form the backbone of the music.

For his album "About Time", pianist and composer Florian Christl has written pieces for piano and string orchestra for the first time. Thematically, he negotiates in his melodic, cinematic-atmospheric compositions the perception of time and the beauty that lies in the awareness of the transience of things "With this album I go in search of the moment, in search of the here and now. Focusing on what is now, it is about the awareness of the inevitable fleetingness and transience of life and the ability to recognize a fragile beauty in this fleetingness," Florian Christl explains Great emotional moments orchestrated with wide-screen string sounds and intimate quiet moments portrayed in piano miniatures combine on "About Time" to create a poetic musical experience. For the recording of "About Time", Munich-based pianist and composer Florian Christl collaborated with the NDR Radiophilharmonie and conductor Ben Palmer. Four of Arrows is the new album from Seattle based indie rockers Great Grandpa out on Big Scary Monsters/Double Double Whammy in Oct 2019. It follows on from 2017's delightful and well received debut 'Plastic Cough'.In the Wildwood Tarot deck, the 'Four of Arrows' is adorned with a painting of man face down on the ground. The titular arrows surround him, sticking straight up from the ground but never making contact; a large butterfly hovers above him.
