Der Käpt’n ruft die Mann- und Frauschaft an Bord, setzt die Segel und zieht abermals den Stecker. In der Hamburger Kulturfabrik Kampnagel ging es vom 4. – 6. Juli auf große Fahrt um den Globus, um die bedrohten Freigeister der Welt zu retten. Eine wilde Fahrt durch die Gewässer der Freiheit und der Menschlichkeit. Der Käpt’n heißt UDO LINDENBERG und hebt aus den Tiefen der Gewässer seine größten Schätze: Von „Hoch im Norden“ über den „Cowboy Rocker“ und „Der Astronaut muss weiter“ bis hin zu „Durch die schweren Zeiten“ umsegelt UDO nicht nur die Welt, sondern auch das Universum seiner eigenen und damit unser aller Geschichte. Das alles passiert – und für Udo zum 2. Mal - ohne Strom: „Alles akustische Instrumente. Das ist so nah, so intim und so fein. Du hörst das Atmen des Instruments, du hörst die Seelen schwingen. Du bist ganz nah dran“, so UDO selbst über den MTV Unplugged-Sound des Konzerts, das in der atemberaubenden Kulisse zweier Seite an Seite liegender Segler stattfand.

Shawn Mendes brings his fans a live MTV Unplugged performance of hit tracks from his previous albums, Illuminate and Handwritten, on 11/3 via Island Records. The intimate performance took place in Downtown Los Angeles at The Theatre at Ace Hotel & aired on September 8th nationwide. Mendes’ Unplugged performance was the premiere to MTV’s ‘90s revival of the concert series. He will continue his Illuminate World Tour in Australia & New Zealand in November.

Wien (OTS) - Christina Stürmer ist die erste weibliche Künstlerin im deutschsprachigen Raum, die von MTV eingeladen wurde, ein Album aufzunehmen. Mit ihrem Unplugged-Ensemble begeistert sie nun das Publikum: Sie präsentiert im Wiener Volkstheater ihre zahlreichen Hits in mal zartem, mal bunt verpacktem, aber bisher nicht gehörtem Akustikgewand. „Christina Stürmer – MTV Unplugged in Wien“ zeigt die Highlights dieses besonderen Musikabends – inklusive besonderer Duett-Arrangements mit Wolfgang Ambros („Du bist wia de Wintasun“) und Mathea („Scherbenmeer“) – am Freitag, dem 15. März 2024, um 22.30 Uhr in ORF 1.

Originally released in October 1993, MTV Unplugged is 10,000 Maniacs' most commercially successful album, featuring the band's best-loved songs and marks the final recording with lead singer Natalie Merchant before she embarked on her solo career. For the first time ever on vinyl, this album version is available on 2xLP, and CD options, including a newly remastered sound, as well as bonus tracks with the band being joined by vocalist guest David Byrne. The collection showcases acoustic versions of songs from three of the band’s previous albums: In My Tribe (1987), Blind Man’s Zoo (1989), and Our Time in Eden (1992). Highlights include a cover of "Because The Night", hits such as “Trouble Me,” “These Are Days,” and “Candy Everybody Wants,” along with fan favorites like “Hey Jack Kerouac” and “Like The Weather.”
