"Coloriage" means "to colour, to paint" in French. This term reflects the band's music which is daring, full of emotions, multicoloured. The musicians present their own arrangements of classical compositions and jazz standards. They also draw their inspiration from folk music. The record takes the listeners on musical voyage to regions that are home to Balkan, Hungarian, Gypsy, Jewish and Latin American music. Apart from well-known pieces like "Libertango" or "Besame mucho", the record also features Coloriage's own compositions.

Bach Stories explores a new way of thinking about classical music and improvisation; it presents historical music practice in a contemporary form. This double album from Warner Classics bears the fruits of a friendship and collaboration between two young but already much-awarded musicians. Aleksander Dębicz (piano) and Marcin Zdunik (cello) combine virtuosity and musical drama with the sheer joy and freshness of music-making in a unique programme of chamber works by Bach and improvisations inspired by those works.

The first-time teaming of Poland’s dynamic Marcin Wasilewski Trio and big-toned US tenorist Joe Lovano brings forth special music of concentrated, deep feeling, in which lyricism and strength seem ideally balanced. The alliance plays four new tunes by Marcin and one by Joe, as well as Carla Bley’s classic “Vashkar” (in two variations), plus collective improvisations with strong input from all four players; Slawomir Kurkiewicz’s bass skills are particularly well-deployed in the spontaneous piece “Arco”. Joe will be joining the Polish trio for a number of selected concerts in the autumn. Arctic Riff was recorded at France’s Studio La Buissonne in August 2019, and produced by Manfred Eicher.

In his debut album for Rubicon Classics, accomplished pianist Marcin Fleszar performs Rameau’s timeless Suite in A minor. Under Fleszar’s masterful touch and performed on the piano, instead on the harpsichord as is traditional, the pieces take on new colours and shadings with a cantabile quality, verging at times on songlike. The second half of the album transports the listener to the heights of 19th-century Romanticism with Schumann’s Davidsbündlertänze. The piece was inspired by his love for his soon-to-be wife, Clara Wieck, and Fleszar’s interpretation makes for a carefully crafted balance between the composer’s alter egos; from the explosive passion of Florestan to the gentle lyricism of Eusebius.
