Kim Carnes' Crazy in the Night is a budget-priced collection of most of her 1980-1986 hits. However, it does not include her 1981 chart-topping smash "Bette Davis Eyes." That song is readily available elsewhere, so try to ignore its unfortunate omission and focus on the 12 songs at hand. Carnes – whose husky vocal rasp makes it easy to christen her and Bonnie Tyler female versions of Rod Stewart – first broke into the business as a nightclub and session singer and was a member of the New Christy Minstrels. Although she worked as a songwriter for MOR and country artists such as Barbara Streisand and Kenny Rogers, Carnes attempted to crack the pop and rock markets.

Checkin' Out the Ghosts is the twelfth studio album by Kim Carnes, released in Japan only. Two years later, in 1993, the song "Gypsy Honeymoon" would be re-recorded and released as a single in Europe only. The track would be included on and become the title of an internationally released hits compilation, Gypsy Honeymoon: The Best of Kim Carnes.

Kim Carnes (born July 20, 1945) is an American singer-songwriter. She is a two-time Grammy Award winner noted for her distinctive raspy vocal style, which has drawn comparisons to Rod Stewart. She had her first solo top-ten hit with a cover version of "More Love" in 1980 and later achieved international success with her album "Mistaken Identity" which reached #1 in the USA in 1981, and yielded the international hit "Bette Davis Eyes".

Digitally remastered two-fer from the Folk/Rock singer/songwriter containing two of her original albums on one CD: Secret Life of J. Eddy Fink (1968) and Who Really Cares (1969). These are a young Janis' third and fourth recordings for Verve. She retired from music at 19, but returned to go onto huge success with her 1974 album Stars and a long international career.

Australian singer/actress Delta Goodrem got her start on the popular soap opera Neighbours, and parlayed her fame from the show into a singing career. Her first album, the million-plus-selling Innocent Eyes, arrived in 2003 and featured songs co-written by pop songwriters such as Cathy Dennis. At that time, Goodrem was splitting her time between Neighbours and her pop career, but her diagnosis of Hodgkin's lymphoma forced her to slow down and re-evaluate her life. The direction for what was to become her next batch of songs came from Goodrem's physical and mental therapy. Recruiting a team of collaborators that included Dennis, Gary Barlow, and songwriter/producer Guy Chambers, who had also worked with pop stars including Robbie Williams, Goodrem used her experiences – good and bad – to create Mistaken Identity, which was released in the U.S. in summer 2005. Her next project involved a different team, including Westlife's Brian McFadden for his pop acumen, Stuart Crichton for his dance smarts, and Nashville-based Tommy Lee James for ballads.
