Modeling Multi-Level Systems by Octavian Iordache
English | PDF | 2011 | 243 Pages | ISBN : 3642179452 | 1.6 MB

This book is devoted to modeling of multi-level complex systems, a challenging domain for engineers, researchers and entrepreneurs, confronted with the transition from learning and adaptability to evolvability and autonomy for technologies, devices and problem solving methods. Chapter 1 introduces the multi-scale and multi-level systems and highlights their presence in different domains of science and technology. Methodologies as, random systems, non-Archimedean analysis, category theory and specific techniques as model categorification and integrative closure, are presented in chapter 2. Chapters 3 and 4 describe polystochastic models, PSM, and their developments. Categorical formulation of integrative closure offers the general PSM framework which serves as a flexible guideline for a large variety of multi-level modeling problems.

Inverters and AC Drives: Control, Modeling, and Simulation Using Simulink

Inverters and AC Drives: Control, Modeling, and Simulation Using Simulink by Narayanaswamy P.R. Iyer
English | EPUB (True) | 2024 | 716 Pages | ISBN : 3031627830 | 247.9 MB

Successful development of power electronic converters and converter-fed electric drives involves system modeling, analyzing the output voltage, current, electromagnetic torque, and machine speed, and making necessary design changes before hardware implementation. Inverters and AC Drives: Control, Modeling, and Simulation Using Simulink offers readers Simulink models for single, multi-triangle carrier, selective harmonic elimination, and space vector PWM techniques for three-phase two-level, multi-level (including modular multi-level), Z-source, Quasi Z-source, switched inductor, switched capacitor and diode assisted extended boost inverters, six-step inverter-fed permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM), brushless DC motor (BLDCM) and induction motor (IM) drives, vector-controlled PMSM, IM drives, direct torque-controlled inverter-fed IM drives, and fuzzy logic controlled converter-fed AC drives with several examples and case studies. Appendices in the book include source codes for all relevant models, model projects, and answers to selected model projects from all chapters.
Modern Music-Inspired Optimization Algorithms for Electric Power Systems: Modeling, Analysis and Practice (Repost)

Modern Music-Inspired Optimization Algorithms for Electric Power Systems: Modeling, Analysis and Practice by Mohammad Kiani-Moghaddam , Mojtaba Shivaie , Philip D. Weinsier
English | EPUB (True) | 2019 | 727 Pages | ISBN : 3030120430 | 36.1 MB

In today’s world, with an increase in the breadth and scope of real-world engineering optimization problems as well as with the advent of big data, improving the performance and efficiency of algorithms for solving such problems has become an indispensable need for specialists and researchers. In contrast to conventional books in the field that employ traditional single-stage computational, single-dimensional, and single-homogeneous optimization algorithms, this book addresses multiple newfound architectures for meta-heuristic music-inspired optimization algorithms. These proposed algorithms, with multi-stage computational, multi-dimensional, and multi-inhomogeneous structures, bring about a new direction in the architecture of meta-heuristic algorithms for solving complicated, real-world, large-scale, non-convex, non-smooth engineering optimization problems having a non-linear, mixed-integer nature with big data. The architectures of these new algorithms may also be appropriate for finding an optimal solution or a Pareto-optimal solution set with higher accuracy and speed in comparison to other optimization algorithms, when feasible regions of the solution space and/or dimensions of the optimization problem increase.

Modeling and Simulation of Complex Systems: A Framework for Efficient Agent-Based Modeling and Simulation

Modeling and Simulation of Complex Systems: A Framework for Efficient Agent-Based Modeling and Simulation by Robert Siegfried
English | PDF | 2014 | 233 Pages | ISBN : 3658075287 | 1.4 MB

Robert Siegfried presents a framework for efficient agent-based modeling and simulation of complex systems. He compares different approaches for describing structure and dynamics of agent-based models in detail. Based on this evaluation the author introduces the “General Reference Model for Agent-based Modeling and Simulation” (GRAMS). Furthermore he presents parallel and distributed simulation approaches for execution of agent-based models – from small scale to very large scale. The author shows how agent-based models may be executed by different simulation engines that utilize underlying hardware resources in an optimized fashion.
