Raphaela Gromes from Munich is a highly virtuoso cellist who immediately seduces her audience with her personality, charisma and a certain magic. She received her earliest artistic training from her parents, both cellists themselves, with whom she had her first taste of the stage at the age of seven. She attended masterclasses with renowned cellists such as David Geringas, Natalia Gutman and Yo-Yo Ma. The young musician likes to tread unusual repertoire paths - and at the highest level: the Süddeutsche Zeitung attested to her "beauty of sound and poetry", the Neue Zürcher Zeitung "diabolical acrobatics and an infectious love of music-making".

"On the 30th of April, 1945, American troops marched into Munich. One week later, on the 8th of May, came the unconditional surrender of the German Reich under Admiral Dönitz. Munich was one of the cities that had suffered the greatest devastation. 90% of the inner city lay in ruins, it had lost 22,346 soldiers in battle, 6,632 people to bombings, and the injured and homeless came to, respectively, 15,000 and 30,000.

Howard Shore - The Silence of the Lambs: The Original Motion Picture Score (1991) [Re-Up] Music

The musical score for The Silence of the Lambs was composed by Howard Shore, who would also go on to collaborate with Demme on Philadelphia. Recorded in Munich during the latter half of the summer of 1990, the score was performed by the Munich Symphony Orchestra. "I tried to write in a way that goes right into the fabric of the movie," explained Shore on his approach. "I tried to make the music just fit in. When you watch the movie you are not aware of the music. You get your feelings from all elements simultaneously, lighting, cinematography, costumes, acting, music. Jonathan Demme was very specific about the music".
