Muse From October 2016

Francesco Carella aka Frenkcarella poly instrumentalist (keyboards, guitars, drums and percussion), composer, researcher in the experimentation of the Arts, actor and Anthroposophus, Giuseppe Cascarano guitarist, Giuseppe Quarta drummer. The three, after years and various musical experiences behind them, met in Lecce at the beginning of 2015 and after a month I Viaggi di Madeleine was born. Who is Madaleine? "Madeleine represents the adolescent soul who, despite all the rottenness, resists trying to remain intact". In May 2015, the first studio work, a demo of 4 songs recorded live at SUM_Km 97 (Lecce), immediately after the first concerts arrive, a mini tour of 5 dates and in August they open the Med Festival of San Marzano ( TA).

In 1990 Neil Hannon started recording and releasing under the name The Divine Comedy. Thirty years and twelve great albums later, Hannon is rightly adjudged one of the finest singer songwriters of his generation. To celebrate, Divine Comedy Records are remastering and reissuing nine of the band's classic albums.

This was to be the end of the line for Italian word-setting by Viennese composers: once the confident sentiments that belonged to the poet Metastasio's opera seria felt the chill and threatening wind of Enlightenment and Revolution, their time was up. Even we, for the most part, prefer to remember the German-speaking Beethoven, Schubert and Haydn. So it is good to be reminded of their responses to the Italian muse (usually as part of their craft-learning student work) in this particularly well-cast recital. Central Europe, in the person of Andras Schiff meets Italy, in Cecilia Bartoli, to delightful, often revelatory effect.

A 2018 album by Dutch band Leap Day, celebrating their 10th Anniversary. 3 new recordings, 3 new versions and one previously unreleased live track.
Leap Day was founded on the 29th of February 2008. This Dutch sympho outfit has members of wellknown bands from the world of progressive rock, such as Flamborough Head, King Eider, Nice Beaver, Trion and Pink Floyd Project. In 2008 they released their demo cd containing three songs, including Awaking The Muse which is the title of their first full-length studio album released through Oskar music in 2009. In terms of musical style we're treated to neo-prog of the vintage variety here, with nods in the directions of Camel and Genesis as far as possible influences go…

On their third album, Bokanté have plugged into the blues, tracing the genre's roots in West Africa and the Arab world through the diaspora into the retro-modern present. These nine tracks tell — with lyrics sung mainly in Guadeloupean Creole — of outsiders and seers, memories and joy; of black history, global unity and the futility of war. Of taking time to rest, feel, love. Of the redemptive power of music — as a conduit, a change maker, a muse.
