Mythos were fine purveyors of cosmic Krautrock, covering ground from space-tripping Pink Floyd via Ash Ra Tempel, onto Hawkwind and further by also blending in classical and ethnic themes.
Mythos emerged from the Berlin underground scene in 1969. Less known than others german bands and artists as Amon Düül, Klaus Schulze… they also signed their debut effort for the legendary ohr label. Their first two albums "Mythos" and "Dreamlab" represent Krautrock at its finest. The general mood of the band during that period was orientated to free space/psychedelic music with a lot of electric organs and keyboard parts. Their self title album includes acoustic and oriental elements as flute, sitar… which add a mystical flavor to the music.
Essential: a masterpiece of progressive rock music.
Many words come to mind when listening to this fantastic album, like pastoral, spacey, atmospheric, trippy, eastern, dreamy, cosmic, dark and for one song heavy.
Early heavy Italian progressive rock with enough great hammond, electric guitar and drum courtship to ensure you never sleep well again. J.E.T. were known as a four piece ensemble who performed heavy yet classically influenced guitar and keyboard dominated prog rock. Their music exudes a clever and truly emotional listen never getting to loud or crazy for the listener. Although no shortage of harder rock driven moments, J.E.T. wind out into some simply gorgeous calm and spiritually uplifting melodies throughout. In many ways this is a very complete album reaching a vast range of moods and tempo changes. Vocals are well done with lots of compelling emotion.
With her 1994 breakthrough sophomore album My Life, Mary J. Blige secured herself the title of Queen of Hip-Hop Soul when she delivered the R&B classic. The album, which celebrated its 25th anniversary in 2019, is getting a deluxe reissue on November 20 via Geffen/UMe.
Green Day’s third studio album Dookie was released in February 1994, and has since sold over 15 million copies worldwide, including 10 million in the US (RIAA Diamond certified). The album is an iconic punk-rock-pop masterpiece and one of the most influential and defining albums of the 1990’s. It spawned five hit singles that are still hugely popular songs: “Longview”, “Basket Case”, “Welcome to Paradise”, “When I Come Around”, and “She”. In addition to the original album, the super deluxe box sets will include a wealth of rare and unreleased material. The legendary Woodstock ’94 performance is included – previously released as a very limited Record Store Day vinyl release. The 4 CDs also feature 17 unreleased demos, 6 studio outtakes (3 unreleased), and a 17-track unreleased club show from Barcelona in 1994.
Despite its short existence, Demon Thor was one of the most sensational, continental rock groups in the 70's. It was the very first German band performing on the legendary TV-Show 'Musikladen', the very first performance act in the ‘Circus Kronebau’ in the city of Munich, Germany; the band won music awards in France and England, and both of their albums were published world wide by United Artists. The band was a Swiss rock-scene fusion between Tommy Fortmann and Krokodil, as well as singer Geff Harrison (Twenty Sixty Six And Then), Peter Bischof, and Oliver Freytag. The two full-length albums were re-released on CD (using its original covers) by Spalax France.
