Manhattan è pronta ad accogliere le stelle. Le più grandi star del mondo, attrici, attori, produttori, registi, sono tutti presenti all'attesissimo festival del cinema di New York e lo scintillio dei loro abiti e dei loro sorrisi rivaleggia soltanto con i flash dei paparazzi. Tutto sembra perfetto, fino a quando uno dei più noti produttori cinematografici muore avvelenato e, a distanza di qualche giorno, un attore viene ucciso sul set mentre sta girando una scena.
