Parody metal powerhouse NANOWAR OF STEEL turns to the musical roots of their homeland, bringing heavy new life to traditional Italian music on their new album Italian Folk Metal (out July 2 on Napalm Records)! Filled with references to Italian folklore, NANOWAR OF STEEL puts its own comedic metal twist on the various traditional sounds of their beautiful country. Each song on Italian Folk Metal is performed in a distinct style of Italian folk music: Napoli-based sounds of musica neomelodica clash with melodic guitar sweeps on “Scugnizzi of the Land of Fires“ and speedy accordions (prominently known from northern Italy‘s mazurka) are layered with dizzying guitar solos on “La Mazurka del Vecchio che Guarda i Cantieri“. The powerful blast beats and violins on Italian Folk Metal‘s album opener “L'Assedio di Porto Cervo“ prove that NANOWAR OF STEEL are absolute aficionados of both Italian folk music and heavy music.

Nanowar Of Steel’s new release, entitled “Stairway to Valhalla”, is perhaps the greatest Happy-Metal album of all times.“Stairway to Valhalla” will be released on November, 9th 2018.Featuring world-class guests such as Fabio Lione (Angra, Rhapsody, Rhapsody Of Fire, Staropoliless Fabio Lione’s Rhapsody of Luca Turilli), Alessandro del Vecchio (Edge Of Forever, Vodoo Circle, SSC Napoli) and Mario Draghi (Goldman Sachs, ECB) this album’s spans over a wide range of unusual music styles and genres, from Brazilian Samba to Damaged Dream Theater CDs (yes, that’s a music style), from Liechtensteinische Volksmusik to Dubstep, with a touch of sincere idiocy. “Stairway to Valhalla” is unique voyage throughout many different metal-sub generes: each song has different style but at the same time it keeps track of Nanowar’s unique irony in the lyrics and catchiness in the melodies.
This 16-track album is a parody of power metal, in particular groups such as Manowar, Blind Guardian and Rhapsody of Fire. Quotes to other groups, metal and rock, are constant and numerous, and are present in both text and song melodies. The album is a great hit for audiences and critics by consecrating the band internationally.
While mostly accurate, dismissing Never Mind the Bollocks as merely a series of loud, ragged midtempo rockers with a harsh, grating vocalist and not much melody would be a terrible error. Already anthemic songs are rendered positively transcendent by Johnny Rotten's rabid, foaming delivery. His bitterly sarcastic attacks on pretentious affectation and the very foundations of British society were all carried out in the most confrontational, impolite manner possible. Most imitators of the Pistols' angry nihilism missed the point: underneath the shock tactics and theatrical negativity were social critiques carefully designed for maximum impact.
