Un Canto por México, Vol. 1 (English: "A Song for México, Volume 1"), is the ninth studio album by Mexican recording artist Natalia Lafourcade, based on a concert made on November 4, 2019 called Un canto por México para la reconstrucción del Centro de Documentación del Son Jarocho . It was released on May 8, 2020.

Hasta la Raíz (Spanish pronunciation: [ˈasta la raˈis], "To the Root") is the sixth studio album by Mexican recording artist Natalia Lafourcade. It was released on March 17, 2015, by Sony Music Latin. After the success of her previous album, Mujer Divina, a tribute to Mexican singer-songwriter Agustín Lara, Lafourcade decided to record an album with original recordings. Lafourcade spent three years writing the songs and searching for inspiration in different cities, resulting in songs that express very personal feelings regarding love. The record was produced by Lafourcade, with the assistance of Argentinian musician Cachorro López and Mexican artist Leonel García.

One of the more colorful and charismatic pop artists to emerge in Mexico during the early 2000s, Natalia Lafourcade debuted in 2003 with a fascinating solo effort before switching to a rock band format, Natalia y la Forquetina, and proved herself worthy of acclaim in whatever guise she chose. Born Natalia Lafourcade Silva on February 26, 1984, in Mexico City, she took an early interest in music as her parents were musicians. She knew at an early age that she wanted to become an artist, and over the course of her childhood she studied accordingly: painting, theater, and music, including such instruments as flute, guitar, piano, and saxophone, as well as singing. Though she attended a Catholic middle school, Instituto Anglo Español, Lafourcade spent several years living with her mother in Coatepec, Veracruz, Mexico, where they both studied music. Some of her cited contemporary influences are Fiona Apple, Björk, Café Tacuba, and Zuco 103.

When Mexican singer-songwriter Natalia Lafourcade launched her eponymous first album at the age of 19 in 2003, it hardly seemed like the sort of contender to top the charts. For one, Lafourcade was not the typical Latin pop tart, decked out in high heels and cleavage-enhancing ensembles.

After the success of Hasta la Raíz and different projects that paid tribute to Latin American music, Natalia Lafourcade decides to return to the recording studio, after seven years to record twelve songs, and in this way confront what had become a hidden fear: To release an album of newly written songs. De Todas las Flores (Of All the Flowers) is a musical diary inspired by different life experiences. It is a piece that honors vulnerability, life and death, femininity, nature, the mystical, love and heartbreak.

Above the album was the American composer Michael Giacchino (Medal of Honor: Allied Assault Soundtrack, Medal of Honor: Airborne, Mercenaries), and his release was on November 10, 2017.
