Diamonds in the night is the tense, brutal story of two Jewish boys who escape from a train transporting them from one concentration camp to another. Ultimately, they are hunted down by a group of old, armed home-guardists. The film goes beyond the themes of war and anti-Nazism and concerns itself with man's struggle to preserve human dignity.

Alors qu'il est en train de conduire, un homme croise une belle jeune femme désorientée, Elisabeth, le long de la route. Elle est seulement vêtue d'une mince chemise de nuit et fait rapidement un malaise. L'homme décide de la reconduire chez lui. Ils finissent par tomber dans les bras l'un de l'autre. Mais au beau matin, Elisabeth est enlevée. En partant à sa recherche, l'homme découvre l'existence d'une clinique étrange, où les patients sont torturés et abusés sexuellement par l'équipe médicale. Persuadé que la fille de ses rêves y est retenue prisonnière, l'homme rentre sans hésiter dans l'hôpital du cauchemar…
