Na jarenlang research komen Universal Music en BR Music met de Testament van de Eighties uit de langverwachte opvolger van de succesvolle Sixties en Seventies boxen. Het Testament van de Eighties is wederom een fraai vormgegeven box met 10 cd's, 5 dvd's en een boek.

1986 ‘various artists’ compilation Now That’s What I Call Music 8 will be issued as a two-CD set for the first time later this month.

The NOW team continue to re-release the original compilations and have announced that Now That’s What I Call Music 10 is to be reissued across two CDs, next month.

Time Life was founded in 1961 as the book division of Time Inc.. It took its name from Time Inc.'s cornerstone magazines, Time and Life, but remained independent of both. During 1966, Time Life combined its book offerings with music collections (two to five records) and packaged them as a sturdy box set. Throughout the 1970s and 1980s, the selection of books, music and videos grew and was diversified into more genres. When record labels stopped producing vinyl albums in 1990, Time Life switched to CD only. In the mid-1990s, Time Life acquired Heartland Music, with the Heartland Music label now appearing as a brand. This company was subsequently sold off and is no longer attached to Time Life.

Twelve Inch Eighties is the successful 3CD range by Crimson Productions, compiling extended alternate mixes of some of the biggest hit singles of the 80s. Each themed release is housed in a sleek 3CD digipak with abstract imagery representative of early dance label releases. These carefully selected titles across the range bring together the finest eighties pop, dance and disco, amongst other genres, in all their full 12” single glory. Hold Me Now is a collection of classic love songs extended, remixed and reimagined.

Blank & Jones' fifth So80s mix continues the duo's omnivorous presentation of '80s club music. Within the span of only a few tracks, the first disc moves from Bananarama's "Cruel Summer" to John Carpenter's "The End" and Liaisons Dangereuses' "Los Ninos del Parque" - from chart-topping pop to deep, cult-level gems. Among the other inclusions are Rick Springfield's "Celebrate Youth," New Order's "True Faith," Deacon Blue's "Real Gone Kid," and Thompson Twins' "Hold Me Now." Listeners with similarly broad taste will lap it all up.

As with the other volumes in Blank & Jones' 12"-oriented So80s series, the selections here are mostly from the first half of the '80s, and they balance major pop hits with relatively deeper cuts as a way to catch the interest of a wide listening base. This fourth volume includes extended mixes of Gang of Four's "Is It Love," the Cure's "Close to Me," and Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark's "Telegraph," as well as alternate mixes of ABC's "King Without a Crown," Propaganda's "Dr. Mabuse," and Act's "Snobbery and Decay." The CD edition contains a DJ mix from the German duo, while tracks are provided unmixed on discs two and three.

The second installment in the Blank & Jones So 80's series, this triple disc release includes a continuous mix CD followed by two CD's of unmixed rare extended versions of hits by some of the '80's biggest artists.
