Wisconsin-born, Los Angeles-based singer-songwriter and guitarist, Jared James Nichols, returns with his new album “Black Magic” which is the follow up to 2015’s debut album “Old Glory & The Wild Revival”. “Black Magic” features 10 tracks and will be released by Listenable Records on Friday 27th October. All tracks on the new album were recorded at The Boneyard in Boston as well as Johnny Depp's home studio in Los Angeles and produced and co-written by Tony Perry and Jared James Nichols. Jared will be special guest on Stone Broken’s February and March UK tour which also features The Bad Flowers. The tour kicks off Thursday 22nd February at the Haunt in Brighton. Airbourne is an Australian hard rock band formed in Warrnambool in 2003. Mainstay members are Joel O'Keeffe on lead vocals and lead guitar, and his brother Ryan O'Keeffe on drums. I came to a realization as I approached this review of Prophecies and Lies, the third album by North Carolina’s Demon Eye. I tend to navigate towards one of two directions when it comes to music. Either I grab onto something fresh, exciting, and genre-pushing, or I flock to well-worn sounds that are performed with such conviction, talent, and pizzazz that it makes me overlook that yes, I have heard this a million times before. Prophecies and Lies comfortably falls into the latter category, generating a sound that recalls the glory years of the 70s. But if you’re anything like me, first of all, clean your room, and second, you’re probably sick to death of bands aping the retro-doom sound making its rounds among the underground. The music’s gotta be something special for me to pay attention and give it my time.
