Simon et Dédé, deux amis paumés et soudés l'un à l'autre par la même quête d'oubli et d'exhaltation, vivent leurs journées comme étrangers au monde. Au lieu de monter dans le train de la vie orthodoxe, ces adolescents de quarante ans sont restés sur le quai. De jour, ils voient les choses, les êtres et surtout la femme, comme au travers d'une vitrine. La nuit, aidés par l'alcool, ils s'allument et s'animent, cherchant encore plus à perdre la raison et à rencontrer des visions.

Solange is a filmmaker. She is married and is a mother. She enjoys occasional sex with her husband but also feels drawn towards a bisexual actor named Jim. This doesn’t prevent her from taking other lovers – sometimes as many as two or three in one night. Solange is looking for frenzied love. Then she meets Bruno, who, like herself, is a filmmaker. A loud argument takes place with everybody but Shin-Hye and her younger colleague Hyun-Seung (Lee Jae-Yoon) left to drink alone. They end up spending the night at a motel. Shin-Hye looks back at that night as a one night stand, but Hyun-Seung thinks about it differently…..

Based upon Hermann Sudermman’s “The Excursion to Tilsit”, Sunrise tells the story of a man (George O’Brien) and his wife (Janet Gaynor); farmers living in a small village situated by a lakeside, who have had to struggle through poverty whilst raising a young child. For a while the man has been seeing a woman from the city (Margaret Livingston) and life back home has been far from joyful. The seductress asks him to run away with her, and then instructs him to murder his wife and tailor a story around an apparent accident. So the man arranges a pleasant day out for his wife - a trip to the lake which naturally surprises her….
