Linearization Models for Complex Dynamical Systems: Topics in Univalent Functions, Functional Equations and Semigroup Theory Mark Elin by David Shoikhet
English | PDF | 2010 | 271 Pages | ISBN : 3034605080 | 2 MB

This book provides valuable insights into complex analysis, dynamical systems, geometric function theory and operator theory. Intended for a broad spectrum of readers, ranging from undergraduate and graduate mathematics students to active researchers, it offers extensive coverage of recent advances in geometric function theory, including the theory of starlike and spirallike functions with respect to a boundary point. Of particular interest is its treatment of continuous time semigroups, about which little has been previously known, emphasizing the use of generation theory for continuous dynamical systems.

Dynamical Systems with Applications using MATLAB®

Dynamical Systems with Applications using MATLAB® by Stephen Lynch
English | PDF(True) | 2004 | 458 Pages | ISBN : 0817643214 | 26.9 MB

Beginning with a tutorial guide to MATLAB®, the text thereafter is divided into two main areas. In Part I, both real and complex discrete dynamical systems are considered, with examples presented from population dynamics, nonlinear optics, and materials science. Part II includes examples from mechanical systems, chemical kinetics, electric circuits, economics, population dynamics, epidemiology, and neural networks. Common themes such as bifurcation, bistability, chaos, fractals, instability, multistability, periodicity, and quasiperiodicity run through several chapters. Chaos control and multifractal theories are also included along with an example of chaos synchronization. Some material deals with cutting-edge published research articles and provides a useful resource for open problems in nonlinear dynamical systems.
Applied Dynamic Programming for Optimization of Dynamical Systems (Advances in Design and Control)

Applied Dynamic Programming for Optimization of Dynamical Systems (Advances in Design and Control)
260 pages | Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematic (July 2005) | ISBN: 0898715865 | PDF | 11 Mb

The book is a welcome addition to the dynamical systems field. The marriage of optimization broadly and dynamic programming in particular to a family of problems in robotics and spacecraft maneuvers is beautifully executed. There is good balance between development of methodology and presentation of illustrative applications. The detailed appendices will be most appreciated by serious students who wish to understand these results and carry them further. In summary, I like this book and warmly recommend it. John L. Junkins, Distinguished Professor of Aerospace Engineering, Director, Center for Mechanics and Control, Texas A&M University

Mathematical Methods in Optimization of Differential Systems

Mathematical Methods in Optimization of Differential Systems by Viorel Barbu
English | PDF | 1994 | 271 Pages | ISBN : 0792331761 | 16.4 MB

This work is a revised and enlarged edition of a book with the same title published in Romanian by the Publishing House of the Romanian Academy in 1989. It grew out of lecture notes for a graduate course given by the author at the University if Ia~i and was initially intended for students and readers primarily interested in applications of optimal control of ordinary differential equations. In this vision the book had to contain an elementary description of the Pontryagin maximum principle and a large number of examples and applications from various fields of science. The evolution of control science in the last decades has shown that its meth ods and tools are drawn from a large spectrum of mathematical results which go beyond the classical theory of ordinary differential equations and real analy ses. Mathematical areas such as functional analysis, topology, partial differential equations and infinite dimensional dynamical systems, geometry, played and will continue to play an increasing role in the development of the control sciences. On the other hand, control problems is a rich source of deep mathematical problems. Any presentation of control theory which for the sake of accessibility ignores these facts is incomplete and unable to attain its goals.

Software intensive systems are systems, which heavily interact with other systems, sensors, actuators, devices, other software systems, and users. More and more domains are involved with software intensive systems, e.g., automotive, telecommunication systems, embedded systems in general, industrial automation systems, and business applications. Moreover, the outcome of web services delivers a new platform for enabling software intensive systems.
