In 1994, the unforgettable Cypriot composer Marios Tokas, decided to write 10 love songs for her compatriot singer Konstantina, who was making her discographic debut. Three of these ballads were bound to become best sellers, one with Konstantina (track no 3: My angel, my killer), and the other two with Yiannis Parios and Dimitris Mitropanos, in later releases. Yiannis Parios, sings also in this album at track no 2, in a touching duet with Konstantina. Enjoy a real gem.

Plaka is an historical and traditional district in the very center of Athens, under Acropolis. The streets of Plaka are narrow and ascenting and they guide to the Herodeion Odeon and the sacred rock above the city with the Parthenon ancient temple. Fifty years ago Plaka was full of picturesque, small taverns with happy wine lovers, usually drunk and music groups with guitars and mandolins, singing folk songs about love, wine, and beautiful but decieving girls. These songs are really beautiful and create easily a happy and light atmosphere. Enjoy a nice collection of songs that were heard the nights in the ascending streets of Plaka.

Stamatis Spanoudakis - (born December 11, 1948 in Athens, Greece) is a modern Greek classical composer. Early on he studied classical guitar. He went through a rock music phase, but then continued classical studies at the Würzburg State Conservatory with Bertold Hummel and later in Athens with Konstantinos Kydoniatis. Later on he studied Byzantine music.

The meeting of the most popular greek singer Giorgos Dalaras, with the legendary rebetiko composer Markos Vamvakaris, could not be less than a musical masterpiece. This double CD contains live recordings of the concert given in 2002 at the island of Syros, homeland of Vamvakaris. The songs are interpreted by the superb Giorgos Dalaras and Vamvakaris' two sons, Stelios and Domenikos. Most of the songs are rhythmic "hasapika" full of expressive bouzouki passages. Enjoy.

He was born as Naum Izrailevich Lur'ya in 1892, according to his own statements and documents, but there is also evidence for 1891. At the age of 21, the born Jew converted to Christianity; he was a charismatic bohemian and Soviet cultural politician who did not return from a so-called official journey to Berlin in 1922 and was a pioneer of Modernism in music, enjoying mingling among the poets and painters of the Silver Age and being inspired by them.
