Based on a book of short fiction called Tevye and his Daughters by Russian writer Solomon Rabinowitch (aka Sholom Aleichem), Fiddler on the Roof tells the story a typical Jewish family living the simple life at the turn of the century. Tevye (Topol) and his wife Golde (Norma Crane) struggle to match their three eldest daughters with suitable husbands from their little Russian village of Anatevka. Yente (Molly Picon), the town's unofficial matchmaker, has word that the local wealthy butcher Lazar Wolf (Paul Mann) has "cast his eye" on Tevye's eldest daughter Tzeitel (Rosalind Harris). She, however, has already nailed the young tailor Motel (Leonard Frey in an Oscar-nominated role) as her husband-to-be. With ever less desirable suitors baying for the hands of his remaining nubile daughters, poor Tevye attempts to hold on to tradition while addressing his children's blind passions. This juggling act, symbolized by a fiddler sawing out a tune perched precariously on a rooftop, has Tevye turning to God for guidance and some kind of uneasy reconciliation.

Having escaped her abusive ex-husband Goss (Harry Connick Jr.), recently released from state prison, Agnes (Ashley Judd), a lonely waitress with a tragic past moves into a sleazy, run-down motel and her lesbian co-worker R.C (Lynn Collins) introduces her to Gulf War veteran Peter (Michael Shannon), a peculiar, paranoiac drifter and they begin a tentative romance. However, things don't always seem as they appear and Agnes is about to experience a claustrophobic nightmare reality as the bugs begin to arrive… Directed by William Friedkin ("The Exorcist") and adapted by Trecy Letts from his hit off-Broadway play.

Marco (Trintingnant) is married to Anna (Lollobrigida),who between them run a chicken farm. Gabriella, Anna's niece, arrives to stay with them and it is soon apparent that she is having an affair with Marco.Marco and Gabriella are apparently plotting Anna's death, but Gabriella is also having an affair with a man called Mondaini, who witnessed Marco committing a murder during the film's opening, and these two also have some nefarious plans up their sleeves! Throw into the mix a scientist who has created headless, wingless chickens which Marco hates, and numerous double crosses, triple crosses and various attempted murders and you have a film which is so confusing, dazzling and brilliantly realised that for me to reveal anything more about the films story would be a crime in itself.

Critically respected filmmaker Hong Sang Soo, who would go on to helm such films as The Power Of Kangwon Province and Virgin Stripped Bare By Her Bachelors made his feature length directorial debut with The Day A Pig Fell Into The Well, a film that received much acclaim at film festivals around the world, winning the director numerous awards in the process, including Best Director at South Korea's Blue Dragon Awards. Divided into separate stories, the film follows the everyday lives of four characters whose lives all interconnect at some point in their respective narratives.

A Hong Kong writer finds inspiration from the women he's encountered in his past in this futuristic story of love and memory from Wong Kar Wai, who continues the story he began in his acclaimed masterpiece In the Mood for Love. Remembering back to the early 1960s, when he lived in the Oriental Hotel in Hong Kong, Chow (Tony Leung) writes an erotic story that begins with a mysterious woman who lived in room 2046. Chow moves into room 2047 and begins an affair with a beautiful prostitute who now rents the mysterious woman's room. As he writes his story, which he sets in the future year 2046, Chow tells of a place where people travel to recapture lost memories; he is the first one to return. Nominated for the Golden Palm Award at the 2004 Cannes Film Festival, 2046 also stars Ziyi Zhang, Gong Li, Faye Wong and Maggie Cheung.
