In 2015, Big Apple Blues released the album ENERGY, which described day in a life of New York City. Boasting entirely original material, ENERGY marked a departure from the well-trodden blues genre towards a fusion of instrumental blues, soul, funk, and rock. Unable to assign the album to a pre-defined genre, the critics labeled it as the “Big Apple Blues Sound.” MANHATTAN ALLEY builds on ENERGY and presents more of the feel-good Big Apple Blues Sound. Like its predecessor, MANHATTAN ALLEY tells its own story, aiming to draw from a well of energy and philosophical, utterly positive reflections on life and creativity. It is inspired by New York City itself - NYC with a nod to Tin Pan Alley - the collection of New York City music publishers and songwriters that dominated popular music in America in the late 19th and early 20th century.

Harry Nilsson spent almost all of his rich, idiosyncratic, sometimes maddening career at RCA Records, releasing his bravura debut, Pandemonium Shadow Show, in 1967 and fading into the sunset with 1977's Knnillssonn. During those ten years, he released 14 albums and left behind a bunch of stray tracks, almost all of which are gathered on Legacy's massive and wonderful 2013 box The RCA Albums Collection…

Legacy's second reissue of Texas Flood, the 1983 debut from Stevie Ray Vaughan and Double Trouble, now expands the album to two CDs, adding a complete concert given at Ripley's Music Hall in Philadelphia on October 20, 1983, four months after the record was released. On the first disc, an early version of "Tin Pan Alley (aka Roughest Place in Town)" is added to the original album but that is the only carry-over from the 1999 expansion. That disc also had three live cuts, but those were taken from a different 1983 concert, so this 2013 30th Anniversary Edition offers something completely new: an entire radio broadcast featuring SRV and Double Trouble at the peak of their power.
