Opera prima è il quarto album dei Pooh, pubblicato nel 1971 dalla CBS. A dispetto del titolo, non è la prima fatica discografica del gruppo, ma ne segna l'esordio con la nuova casa discografica.
Il primo edito da una casa discografica importante dopo i cinque anni passati sotto la Vedette di Armando Sciascia. Il gruppo ha dovuto pagare una penale alla Vedette per accasarsi con la CBS. Il lavoro è arrangiato da Franco Monaldi che ha curato le partiture orchestrali con Roby Facchinetti, autore di tutte le musiche della band, mentre i testi sono affidati al genio creativo del batterista Valerio Negrini. Il lavoro, sostenuto dall'imperante utilizzo dell'orchestra è prodotto da un giovane manager romano, Giancarlo Lucariello che ha voluto a tutti i costi produrre la band dopo averla sentita suonare dal vivo in un locale.

HARMONY OF DISSONANCE brings together, juxtaposes, and intertwines the disparate singing styles of the regions of Dalmatia, which remain stylistically and performatively distant even today. While these musical worlds present seemingly irreconcilable musical and cultural differences, they are all connected by polyphonic singing, which forms the core of this collaboration between the Harmonija Dissonance Ensemble and the Jazz Orchestra of the Academy of Music in Zagreb.

Jazz clarinetist Don Byron likes to focus on specific musical styles. He's released albums filled with Latin jazz (Six Musicians), the klezmer music of Mickey Katz (Don Byron Plays the Music of Mickey Katz), and the repertory works of Duke Ellington, John Kirby, and Raymond Scott (Bug Music). Now for his sixth solo release, Nu Blaxploitation, Byron offers up a musical evocation of '70s funk, including a nod to hip-hop by way of a Biz Markie guest spot.
