Newly-promoted if none too happily married Howard Brubaker leaves a rowdy Company party early with the stunning Catherine, whom it turns out is herself unhappily married - to the boss. They spend an innocent night in New York becoming more and more attracted to each other, so that when Catherine announces she intends to leave her husband and return to Paris Howard asks to go along too. In the cold light of morning problems and pressures from spouses crowd in.

Stanley Kramer followed his Oscar-winning Judgment at Nuremberg with this sobering investigation of American greed. Ah, who are we kidding? It’s a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World, about a group of strangers fighting tooth and nail over buried treasure, is the most grandly harebrained movie ever made, a pileup of slapstick and borscht-belt-y one-liners performed by a nonpareil cast, including Milton Berle, Sid Caesar, Ethel Merman, Mickey Rooney, Spencer Tracy, Jonathan Winters, and a boatload of other playing-to-the-rafters comedy legends. For sheer scale of silliness, Kramer’s wildly uncharacteristic film is unlike any other, an exhilarating epic of tomfoolery.

A well-bred, lovely, spiritual, sad young woman marries an attentive physician who loves her. She feels affection but no love. Soon after, without design, she falls in love with Pedro Abrunhosa, a poet and performance artist. He also loves her. She keeps her distance from him, confessing her love to a friend who is a nun and, later, to her husband. Hunger for her love and jealousy consume him; she attends him as he wastes away. With his death, she can marry and express her passion, but what she does and how she explains herself, particularly to her cloistered friend, is at the heart of the film. Glimpses of convent life and of Abrunhosa on stage give contrast and mute comment.

Cirque du Soleil (English: "Circus of the Sun"), is a Canadian entertainment company, self-described as a "dramatic mix of circus arts and street entertainment." Based in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, and located in the inner-city area of Saint-Michel, it was founded in Baie-Saint-Paul in 1984 by two former street performers, Guy Laliberté and Daniel Gauthier.

It has been described as the modern circus, and focuses upon a storyline as well as amazing performances. It has several resident and touring troupes and draws heavily from the circus tradition. Emphasizing the use of humans as performers, Cirque du Soleil does not make use of animals. Instead, its performances combine elements of street performances and busking, circus, opera, ballet, and rock music. Acts include contortionists, jugglers, feats of strength, clowning, and trapeze artists. Their costumes are very colorful. Cirque shows traditionally do not use pre-recorded music; with some exceptions all music is played live, and in many performances the spoken parts are done in Cirquish, an imaginary language invented by the company.

Russia. Il capitano della polizia sovietica Ivan Danko cerca di catturare il feroce criminale georgiano Viktor "Rosta" Rostavili. L'ufficiale gli uccide il fratello e Viktor gli ammazza il compagno, fuggendo poi in America.
Il criminale viene arrestato dalla polizia di Chicago ed il capitano Danko viene inviato dal Cremlino per procedere all'estradizione. Scortato dai colleghi americani Art Ridzik e Gallagher, al momento della partenza, i complici di Viktor riescono a farlo evadere, colpendo Gallagher. Sono le "Teste Lustre", un gruppo criminale che traffica droga e che per segno di distinzione usano radersi la testa. Viktor ha però perduto un'importante chiave, che Danko riesce a recuperare.
Subito rimessosi, Danko e Ridzik si mettono sulle tracce del georgiano. Incontrano Abdul Elijah, cieco criminale di colore che dal carcere dirige il crimine organizzato della città. Essendo il capo della banda alleata di Viktor, organizza loro un incontro con quest'ultimo. Seguendo Cathrine (moglie di Viktor solo per la cittadinanza) rintracciano il criminale, ma non riescono a catturarlo…
