It shouldn’t have come as a surprise, as both of the previous albums by L.A. based Prog-Rock outfit Perfect Beings were mature in sound and execution with highly original compositions, but third outing, Vier, leaves this listener completely floored – and willing to affirm that a review of the best album of 2018 just might have been written in 2017. Complete Exaggeration? Let’s take a few steps back and tackle this monster from the start.

Perfect Beings is a Progressive Rock band from Los Angeles, California. Perfect Beings was created in November 2012, and are about to release their latest album "Perfect Beings II" via My Sonic Temple. This album by Perfect Beings opens with "Far Del Fuego" which gives off more of a Symphonic Metal feel to it, and makes it into the mid-to-upper-ranges of tempos at times. Overall its a soothing melodic piece that has the mothers of creation on our sides rather than against us. "Cryogenia" is about a woman that someone loved the first time he met her, and he knew he was supposed to be in love and never wanted to be away from her again. "The Love Inside" track brings keyboards played by Nason into the mix to add a soft, melodic touch Perfect Beings's already-Symphonic Metal sound.

Perfect Beings is based on Suhail Rafidi’s novel, TJ & Tosc: A Field Guide For Life After Western Culture, a science fiction adventure centered around the story of Salvador Tosc, an artificial intelligence who used to be a live man. This story is now converted into a prog rock opera by the powerhouse L.A. duo of composer Ryan Hurtgen and guitarist/producer Johannes Luley. Both men, veterans of the music industry, were looking for a challenge, a chance to raise the musical bar, to innovate in their field.
