A relic from the days when so many artists' catalogs were still unavailable on CD, and a decent hits package was the best you could hope for, Out Demons Out! is a generously stuffed compilation that carves through the Broughton Band's Harvest label catalog, and comes up consistently trumps. Of course the title track is here – a non-LP single at the time, it remains the archetypal Broughton performance, encapsulating everything that made the band great both on vinyl and in concert. But it is by no means the only classic in their arsenal: "Apache Drop Out," "Evil," and "Hotel Room" are all masterpieces, while "Up Yours" rivals "Out Demons Out" in the all-together-in-a-muddy-field shout-along stakes. The subsequent appearance of the full catalog on disc in its own right takes some of the urgency away from this collection, but anybody searching for an easy entry into the world of the Edgar Broughton Band will find no better introduction.

While Fleetwood Mac didn't invent "the British blues," they were certainly one of the early bands to master the form. This 30-track, double-disc anthology contains everything one would expect from the Peter Green and Jeremy Spencer-fronted blues-rock juggernaut…

A handy and generous double-disc (one live, one studio) compilation of Gary Moore's four Virgin label blues albums is predominantly an excellent introduction to this showy hard rocker turned midlife third-generation bluesman. The 31 tracks liberally sample from his relatively short five-year association with Virgin (roughly 1990-1995) but ignore his excellent 2001 Back to the Blues release on Sanctuary…

Peter Green is regarded by some fans as the greatest white blues guitarist ever, Eric Clapton notwithstanding. Born Peter Greenbaum but calling himself Peter Green by age 15, he grew up in London's working-class East End. Green's early musical influences were Hank Marvin of the Shadows, Muddy Waters, B.B. King, Freddie King, and traditional Jewish music. He originally played bass before being invited in 1966 by keyboardist Peter Bardens to play lead in the Peter B's, whose drummer was a lanky chap named Mick Fleetwood. The 19-year-old Green was with Bardens just three months before joining John Mayall's Bluesbreakers, whose rapidly shifting personnel included bassist John McVie and drummer Aynsley Dunbar. A keen fan of Clapton, Green badgered Mayall to give him a chance when the Bluesbreakers guitarist split for an indefinite vacation in Greece. Green sounded great and, as Mayall recalls, was not amused when Clapton returned after a handful of gigs, and Green was out.

A massive, 2-disc compilation featuring cover versions of virtually every Peter Green song written during his Fleetwood Mac period, and a few drawn from his mid-80s solo period. While there are some weaker moments in this 39-track collection, the majority of the interpretations feature blues guitar, piano and vocal at their very best. Rather than simply pay tribute to Peter Green by faithfully imitating his material, the artists have chosen to re-interpret these songs and in most cases the results are superb. The power of Green's influence is felt all the more deeply when so many artists use his music as a jumping-off point. A must have item for blues guitar fans.

This release combines two studio albums from the Peter Green Splinter Group 'Time Traders' from 2001 and 'Reaching The Cold 100' from 2003. Peter Green's status as a blues guitarist is second to none. With first John Mayall's Bluesbreakers and then Fleetwood Mac, he created an extraordinary body of work which established his reputation. Time Traders and Reaching The Cold 100 were the last studio recordings by the Peter Green Splinter Group, which operated from 1997 to 2004 and in contrast to their earlier albums they feature entirely original compositions by members of the group. These are two great albums worthy of inclusion in any fan's collection.

A substantial (and official) supplement to the band's recorded legacy with Peter Green, this double CD features 36 songs broadcast between 1967 and 1971, in mostly superlative sound. The title, though, isn't 100 percent accurate; half a dozen tracks were recorded shortly after Green left the band, and since Green is still listed as part of the lineup for all but one of these in the liner notes, Castle Communications either has the dates or personnel wrong…

Rudy Rotta is an Italian blues guitarist who lives near Verona. Rotta achieved success in Italy before touring in other European countries. His reputation spread to the United States where he gained great popularity. His music combines a modern style with blues roots and a rocky funk soul character. Some consider him one of the best blues musicians in the world. His current double CD "Me, My Music And My Life" shows his impressive work in celebration of his 40 years in show business. In addition to his best works he also recorded some Italian songs as a bonus.

Peter Green is an English blues rock singer-songwriter and guitarist. As a co-founder of Fleetwood Mac, he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1998. Green's songs, such as "Albatross", "Black Magic Woman", "Oh Well", "The Green Manalishi (With the Two Prong Crown)" and "Man of the World", appeared on singles charts, and several have been adapted by a variety of musicians. Green was a major figure in the "second great epoch" of the British blues movement.

Although it made number ten in the U.K., Fleetwood Mac's second album was a disappointment following their promising debut. So much of the record was routine blues that it could even be said that it represented something of a regression from the first LP, despite the enlistment of a horn section and pianist Christine Perfect (the future Christine McVie) to help on the sessions. In particular, the limits of Jeremy Spencer's potential for creative contribution were badly exposed, as the tracks that featured his songwriting and/or vocals were basic Elmore James covers or derivations. Peter Green, the band's major talent at this point, did not deliver original material on the level of the classic singles he would pen for the band in 1969, or even on the level of first-album standouts like "I Loved Another Woman"…
