Hymn of the Seventh Galaxy (1973) is Return to Forever's third studio album. This was the group's first album with a rock influenced sound and without any vocals. Former members Flora Purim, Joe Farrell and Airto Moreira were replaced by drummer Lenny White and guitarist Bill Connors. The album was originally recorded with drummer Steve Gadd but when Gadd did not want to tour with the band, a new version was recorded with Lenny White. The version featuring Gadd was never released and the whole recording is said to be lost.

Phil Spector changed the landscape of music with innovative productions that influenced virtually every pop producer who followed in his wake. The traditional drums-bass-guitar combination was still the standard in the early 1960s, and only two-track technology was available. Spector created what would become known as the Wall of Sound, using large bands (with several guitarists, two bassists, full string and horn sections), echo chambers, powerful vocalists, and symphonic structures not previously associated with youthoriented pop music. He managed to draw from different musical genres, including R&B, soul, teen idol pop, rock & roll, and doo-wop, to create a lush, resonant, and dramatic sound. This quintessential collector’s edition compiles Spector’s most essential and enduring work from the beginning of his career, gathering a variety of the great sides he produced for a dozen different labels, such as Atlantic, ABC-Paramount, Gregmark, Jamie, Trey, Musicor, Dunes, Big Top, or his own Philles Records, between 1961 and 1962.

2017 collection. Phil Seymour's story reads like a novel: three young hopefuls from Tulsa in love with '60s music and determined to bring back melody and pop songs to '70s rock set off for Hollywood to find fame and fortune. First comes joy as they sign to Shelter Records and crash into the Top 20 in 1975 as the Dwight Twilley Band.
