Bardo State consists of the duo Frank Wijn and Dorian Broekhuyse. Frank is the son of Jan Wijn, a famous Dutch concert pianist, while Dorian attended the conservatory in Amsterdam and has a background in pop and dance music. Dorian used to work with Jocelyn Brown, Victoria Wilson James (Soul II Soul) and George Clinton during the nineties. Raised on musical influences such as Satie, Ravel & Saint-Saëns, the Dutch twosome are also inspired by contemporary composers like Arvo Pärt and Philip Glass. They compose music that is best described as a crossover between pop and classical music. Bardo State works with various classical and pop vocalists, both male and female, including Jo Lemaire and Kevin Mark Trail (The Streets). They use classical themes and traditional folk music to base their music on.

GEORG KAJANUS is a Norwegian composer, singer/songwriter and lyricist best known for writing the hits “Glass Of Champagne” and “Girls Girls Girls” for his band SAILOR. After the break-up of Sailor, Georg came up with the idea of forming a group that would use events as lyrical source, which he then decided to call DATA. Added to that he was dying to work with female vocalists for a change. Having released their debut album “Opera Electronica” in 1981 to great acclaim the band went back in the studio for the follow up and “2-Time” was released in 1983. Georg has digitally remastered the album and added as bonus tracks “Living Inside Me” (Razormaid mix), which was very popular in the 80’s club scene in USA, and a 2017 remix of “Romy Haag” by legendary Dutch remixer/producer MATT POP.

By the first two "The Future Is My Melody" compilations, the german based Elektrolux label, home of well-known and benchmarking compilation series like Space Night or Flowmotion, already proved that Ambient and Pop may be complementary in a most sensual way. Finally, the fascination of the human voice is essential in electronic music as well. Therefore, the third volume of "Future Is My Melody" illustrates the modernity and internationality of a pop understanding which could not be further apart from casting shows and one-hit-wonder-phenomena.
