Pretty Maids are a Danish heavy metal band from Horsens, Denmark. Formed in 1981 by Ronnie Atkins and Ken Hammer. Their sound and music can be described as classic guitar-laden heavy rock with a strong emphasis on melodic elements like vocals and keyboards. Over the years, Pretty Maids have sold hundreds of thousands of records … Retrospective of the Danish metal outfit's finest moments in the '80s & '90s.
Danish metallers Pretty Maids strike again, after 2 years, with their new album Carpe Diem, proving they are still alive and kicking in the dawn of the new millenium.
Carpe Diem is characterized for its refreshed sound. This isn't only in terms of production, which is certainly much clearer than in Anything Worth Doing Is Worth Overdoing, but their style has changed to a much modern approach of melodic Metal. This change is very pleasant, and the result equally good. Carpe Diem is heavier than its predecessor, with songs new for Pretty Maids (Until It Dies e.g.) but without loosing touch with their more classical past (Invisible Chains).
Planet Panic is the ninth studio album by Danish hard rock band Pretty Maids. It was released in 2002 by Massacre Records. Allmusic called Planet Panic a "confused, irregular, and scattered record," and gave it a rating of two-and-a-half out of five stars.
Wake Up to the Real World is the eleventh album of the Danish hard rock and heavy metal band Pretty Maids and released in 2006. Danish rockers Pretty Maids have re-grouped after a 4 year break and returned with a fresh, updated sound that could see them pick up some new fans.
The First Cuts…and then Some compilation collects some early and rare material from Danish melodic hard rock masters Pretty Maids. …
Frontiers Records is pleased to celebrate PRETTY MAIDS’ Thirtieth Anniversary with the release of the band’s first ever live 2CD/DVD package entitled “It Comes Alive (Maid in Switzerland)” on March 23rd in Europe and March 27th in North America.
This is the second live album from our Danish heroes, released close to a decade after the first one. It was recorded during 4 concerts in Japan (2001) and Germany (2002). That means 2 separate tours are represented, first the 'Carpe Diem' tour in Japan, and then the 'Planet Panic' tour in Germany.
In late spring 2012 , the band gathered to finally write the follow up album. Ronnie Atkins tells: “We knew it was going to be a tough one to follow ! I remember back in the day when we had to follow up albums like “Future World”, we tried more or less to copy the songs from the previous album to keep the same kind of balance. But this time we just wrote what came natural to us and that’s what became “Motherland”.
Future World is the second album by the Danish hard rock/heavy metal band Pretty Maids. The album was released by CBS in 1987. The album charted at number 165 on the Billboard 200 in the United States. Future World was produced by Eddie Kramer, who was fired during the recording sessions because he fell asleep at the mixing console, according to guitarist Ken Hammer. The band then finished the album with engineer Chris Isca, who was credited as co-producer on the album. Mixing duties were shared between Metallica, Rainbow and Morbid Angel producer Flemming Rasmussen, and Kevin Elson, known for producing multiplatinum albums by Journey, Mr. Big and Europe.
'Undress Your Madness' is Pretty Maids' highly anticipated follow up to 2016's critically and commercially successful release 'Kingmaker', a record that continued the 'revitalized' path that the band set out upon with the now classic albums 'Pandemonium' (2010) and 'Motherland' (2013). The production is absolutely stellar thanks to Jacob Hansen (Volbeat), who has given the band a sound that not only reinvigorates them, but also incorporates the soundscapes of the past. Modern and classic at the same time.
