Prince, the songwriter, singer, producer, one-man studio band and consummate showman, died on April 21, 2016 at his residence, Paisley Park, in Chanhassen, Minn, according to a statement from his publicist, Yvette Noel-Schure. He was 57. No cause of death has been given. In a statement, the Carver County sheriff, Jim Olson, said that deputies responded to an emergency call at 9:43 am: “When deputies and medical personnel arrived, they found an unresponsive adult male in the elevator. First responders attempted to provide lifesaving CPR, but were unable to revive the victim. He was pronounced deceased at 10:07 am.” The sheriff’s office said it would continue to investigate his death.

The Wooden Prince and The Miraculous Mandarin are – together with the earlier opera Bluebeard’s Castle – the only stage works by Béla Bartók. They stand apart from the more abstract and often more explicitly folk-related character of the music that we primarily associate with the composer. They are nevertheless major achievements that in different ways highlight Bartók’s imaginative use of the modern orchestra. Set in an enchanted forest, The Wooden Prince is based on a fairytale-like libretto featuring a prince and princess.

The Gold Experience is the 1995 album by "The Artist Formerly Known As Prince". Released on 26 September, 1995, the album feature the singles "The Most Beautiful Girl In The World", "Dolphin", "I Hate U', "Gold", "P Control" and "Endorphinmachine", plus such funk nutters like "Now" and "Billy Jack Bitch". This was released on his own NPG Records via Warner Bros.

The Beautiful Experience is the 1994 American CD5 by "The Artist Formerly Known As Prince". The CD5 features seven different mixes of "The Most Beautiful Girl In The World", including what would become the hit version. This was released independently on NPG Records.

Billed as the “Piano & A Microphone” tour, Prince presented exactly what was advertised. A baby grand piano sat alone, with only a few clusters of candles sharing the stage, while a massive video screen projected kaleidoscopic swirls throughout the hour and 20 minute show. While remnants of the flu that sidelined him last week and caused the postponement of these shows was apparent when he talked (he did apologize for last week’s cancellation), when Prince sang, he sounded sublime. Sabotage has given us the best recording of Prince’s last show, and its a MUST OWN release in my opinion. I really did need all the filler tracks, but what matters is the quality of the final show, and its great.
