One of the great CTI recordings of alltime with a lineup that simply plays some of the best modern jazz you will ever hear. It was recorded at the Van Gelder Studio in November 1971.

Infinita is the debut solo album from guitar virtuoso Lawson Rollins member of the acclaimed latin guitar group Young & Rollins. Featuring the legendary Brazilian singer Flora Purim and percussion superstar Airto Moreira as well as producer/musician Shahin Shahida of the chart topping group Shahin & Sepehr, multi-platinum producer Dominic Camardella, Grammy winning violinist Charlie Bisharat, bassist Randy Tico, trumpet player Jeff Elliot and drummer Davo Bryant among others. Infinita draws from an eclectic mix of Latin and Middle Eastern influences woven together with Lawson's Spanish tinged guitar style.

Recorded in 1970 at Rudy Van Gelder's studio in New Jersey under the production auspices of Creed Taylor, the arrangement and conducting skills of Deodato, and the engineering expertise of Van Gelder himself, Jobim's "Stone Flower" is quite simply one of his most quietly stunning works – and certainly the high point of his time at Columbia.

Native Dancer is the fifteenth album by Wayne Shorter. It is a collaboration with Brazilian musician Milton Nascimento, featuring some of his most acclaimed compositions, including "Ponta de Areia" and "Miracle of The Fishes". It is notable for including jazz rock and funk elements in addition to regional rhythms and Brazilian influence, in an attempt to create a "world" music accessible from many perspectives.

This album with the strange psychedelic sci-fi cover draws a tighter circle around Duke’s fusion language. The keyboard master ventures deep into his synthesizer laboratory. Duke shows himself to be a singer with a soulful sound. Shortly before this recording he had shelved his trombone so that he could communicate more directly with the audience, as can be heard in the hymnal, dreamlike title piece. The guest list of players make for an especially exciting concoction. No less than Duke’s playing companion Frank Zappa, under the cryptic pseudonym Obdewl’l X, performs some adventuresome guitar passages on “Love” and “Old Slippers”. On the California-sunshine pop samba, “Yana Aminah”, we have a surprise visit by Brazilian Flora Purim, wife of percussionist Airto Moreira, who opens up his bag of tricks on “The Once Over”, and plays on three more tracks.

Arp Schnitger (1648 -1719) was probably the greatest and most influential German organ builder. He firstly built in Northern Europe, especially in the Netherlands and Germany, but some of his organs can also be found in Portugal, Brazil, England, Russia and Spain. In 1853-54, Siwert Meijer, organist in Groningen (Netherlands), wrote that according to Arp Schnitger’s original manuscripts, in 1701 Schnitger had sent two new organs to Portugal, each with 12 registration, two keyboards and a bellow, their destination however being unknown. Finally, around 1986-87, one of these “two organs”, was found in Moreira, and was later restored by the German master organ maker Georg Jann.
