Quintet 1979

Jay Thomas, a native of Seattle, is a versatile multi-instrumentalist (trumpet, flugelhorn, alto, tenor, soprano and flutes). His music is eclectic, drawing on all musical situations in his life. His music could be described as lyrical without losing touch with the blues. Jay's musical talent was recognized early on.

The British label Pickwick/Hallmark, is characterized by making re-editions. This time I scored another point by purchasing this double LP’s live by Elton John many, many years ago, with two concerts recorded in the 70s decade (1970 – 1974). I say a success because the records are intact, just like their original versions and the best in a single double album! What more can I ask for?

Cai was a harmonic Spanish quintet with Diego Fopiani Macias (drums/vocals), Jose A. Fernandez Mariscall (guitar), Francisco Delgado Gonzalez (guitar), Sebastian Dominguez Lozano (keyboards and piano) and Jose Velez Gomez (bass/vocals). With "Más Allá de Nuestras Mentes Diminuta", Cai made quite a big entry in the world of Southern Spain's progressive movement. This work has some of the typical lack of inner cohesion and overall direction that you might usually expect from the majority of debut albums, yet it also ostensibly portrays the talents of all individual members and of the band as a whole.
