The orchestra is based in Turin, where it presents an annual season, as well as performing in special concert series. Since 2013 it has also taken part in classical music festivals held in the Piazza San Carlo, events organised each summer by Turin City Council. It is frequently invited to perform at major festivals such as the MITO SettembreMusica, the Venice Biennale, Ravenna Festival and the Sagra Musicale Malatestiana in Rimini, and plays a leading role in events such as the Assisi Christmas concerts, which are broadcast worldwide, and the celebrations held to mark Italy’s Republic Day.

Vasant Rai is one of the world’s most acclaimed masters of Indian music.He emerged a virtuoso on the sarod.(The sarod is a 25-string fretless lute.) In 1973, Rai became a visiting professor of music at Columbia University in New York City. He subsequently founded the Alam School of Indian Classical Music in New York, where he now teaches sarod, sitar, flute, violin, guitar, and voice. He lives in the Chelsea district of New York City, and carries on the pure classical tradition of his homeland, expressing the same universal musical spirit as his guru. But meanwhile, Vasant is exploring new directions.

A celebration of Mayfield's genius through Amiri Baraka's intense voice and the deep singing of Leena Conquest. A very cool project from bassist William Parker – a set that's unlike anything else we've ever heard from him before, and a loving tribute to the music of Curtis Mayfield! Instrumentation is mostly jazz-based, but there's also some vocals on the record too – sung by Leena Conquest, and spoken by Amiri Baraka – both of whom really help add some depth to the record.
