Ragas for Meditation is a 1969 album by sitarist Nikhil Banerjee. It is a vinyl release on Capitol Records. The album was released in India under the title Classical Music Of India. Banerjee is joined by Keramatulla Khan on tabla.

As is usually the case with Shankar, the music is quite accessible to Western ears. The jor section of the piece "Dhun" is quite tuneful, for example. And the brevity of the raags (five, ten, 16, and 21 minutes) really helps. The five-minute track is a stirring tabla solo by Alla Rakha with minimal accompaniment by Shankar. Highly recommended for Indian music beginners.

This is one of the best CDs you can get on the Carnatic violin genere. The ragas are exquisite and Subramaniam's playing is sensitive and robust. I found the Ragam rendered beautifully.
