Rainbow The brainchild of former Deep Purple guitarist Ritchie Blackmore, Rainbow quickly developed into one of the '70s most successful heavy metal bands behind charismatic frontman Ronnie James Dio. Together, the duo would produce a string of acclaimed albums which are still considered classics of the genre. But the group would change their musical approach numerous times following the singer's departure, eventually confusing and alienating much of their audience. Releasing eight albums during its decade-long run, the band finally came to an end when Blackmore departed to rejoin his old Deep Purple comrades in a full-fledged reunion in 1984. And while the impact of Rainbow's influence has faded with the intervening decades, theirs was a crucial chapter in the development of heavy metal and hard rock.

Probably the most popular release of Marley live, this concert has been newly remastered! This June 1977 concert at London's Rainbow Theater captures the recently reconfigured Wailers ending a European tour to promote the Exodus album. The rare performances of "Trenchtown Rock," "Rebel Music," and "Crazy Baldhead" from the earlier Wailers repertoire are the treasures of this collection, but the whole thing is simply a "must-have".

“Under the Rainbow” is Pauline London’s new and long awaited album.
After the important international appraisal which resulted from her first album “Quiet Skies” (2004) Pauline is back with a new cd which tastes like Jazz, Nu-Jazz, Latin-Jazz with hints of authorial pop. Whereas the mentioned first album had an electronic-jazz stamp to it, “Under the Rainbow” represents an evolution towards more acoustic and orchestral sounds…

After the commercial failure of the excellent Home of the Brave, Chris Rainbow was brought back down to earth with something of a bump by Polydor. Out went the exotic recording locations and top American sessionmen but, more critically, out too went the innovative production team of Malcolm Cecil and Bob Margouleff, who had been responsible for giving HOTB much of its spectral beauty. Perhaps the setback affected Rainbow's confidence, too, for much of Looking Over My Shoulder finds him settling back into the cosy easy listening rut of his earliest singles…

A sound so overwhelmingly rich and manifold that it almost transcends the ensemble producing it; a wealth of colours bordering on the boundless; a swarm of teeming shapes that is too dense for our ears to unravel; a whole that is far more than its parts, yet does not swallow them. These may be some of the first impressions evoked by the music of Michael Pelzel. Pelzel himself uses the image of a river that takes all manner of things with it; taking up the metaphor, one could say that the place of Pelzels ideal listener is not on the shore, but in the midst of the current. This recording brings together a multitude of performers: Stuttgarter Kammerorchester, Ensemble ascolta, Peter Rundel, ensemble recherche, Ernesto Molinari, Basel Sinfonietta, Jetpack Bellerive, WDR Sinfonieorchester and Bas Wiegers.

Ketil Bjørnstad celebrates 50 years as a musician and artist in 2019. Bjørnstad’s 50th anniversary as an artist kicks off with a reissue of “Rainbow Sessions”, earlier released as a limited edition in 2006. This is Ketil Bjørnstad’s homage to the world known Rainbow Studios and the Steinway grand piano. When studio owner and sound guru Jan Erik Kongshaug in 2004 was moving the studio to a new location, the idea to make the last to record in the old studio and the first to play in the new, was born. Two solo piano albums were planned, at the time it turned into three, and for this release evolves into four. This celebratory edition consists of five different Rainbow sessions recorded in the period 2013-2017, which Bjørnstad has put together into a fourth bonus CD.
