The Reggae Box presents all different sides of Reggae. This deluxe 6CD box set features many of the biggest reggae classics, such as Stop The Train by Bob Marley And The Wailers, Rivers Of Babylon by Ronnie Davis, Monkey Man by Toots and the Maytals and the fantastic Some Like It Hot by Dennis Brown. We also find some great dub versions from Bob Marley’s repertoire performed by the Wailers themselves (Get Up, Stand Up and Concrete Jungle). The collection dedicates a complete CD to reggae’s roots: calypso and mento, and finally, another CD that showcases the re-invention of the genre in the 80s, with songs of Bad Manners, Selecter, the Beat and the punk band Alternative TV. The Reggae Box is the compilation that every pop culture lover should have in his music collection.
Across four discs and 87 songs, The Reggae Box tells the tale of Jamaica's modern social and political history through a well-rounded survey of the island nation's popular music.

Crimson presents Aswad ‘Gold’, the only Aswad compilation you’ll ever need. Arguably Britain’s most successful reggae band, Aswad have been performing together since the mid 1970s and have released over 20 albums. This new compilation includes tracks from across the group’s career including their early roots reggae recordings to their later pop-reggae fusion hits. All 3 of Aswad’s top 20 hits are included: the UK #1 single ‘Don’t Turn Around’ which topped the charts 1988, the follow up single ‘Give A Little Love’, and 1994’s ‘Shine’ which peaked at #5. CD 1 opens with the group’s best known hit ‘Don’t Turn Around’ which was a top 10 hit across the globe and peaked at #1 in the UK singles charts. Other highlights on this CD include early hit ‘Back To Africa’, the 7” Beatmasters mix of ‘Shine’ which hit #5 in the UK singles chart in 1994, and a cover of Toot and the Maytals’s rocksteady classic ’54-46 That’s My Number’.
Before Bob Marley came on the scene, many in Britain dismissed reggae as either the stuff of one-hit wonders or skinhead dance music. Now it is recognized as an influential style, which has not only sold millions of records worldwide but had a major effect on the mainstream. Eric Clapton, the Police and the Clash are just three artists touched by reggae's magic and Marley's majesty. Few of his fans realise the man's recording career was as lengthy as it was: though he died aged just 36 in 1981, he'd been active in the studio since 1962 onwards. This collection can only scratch the surface of Bob Marley's genius.
This whopping 30-CD box set gathers together the best of Trojan's three-disc box set series. Included are the Ska, DJ, Dub, Instrumentals, Jamaican Superstars, Lovers, Producer Series, Rocksteady, Roots, and Tribute to Bob Marley volumes, each of which can be found under Trojan Box Set for their individual reviews. What's lacking here is a booklet with additional notes and information; the bulk seems to demand some extra coverage and care, yet all that's here are the original notes of each volume – only as much text as can fit on the back of the CD sleeves.
