Reminiscence

There are worlds, there are humans and there are Others. But there is only one Time which is the border between worlds. What if time breaks down? Reminiscence based on true events and physics, telling the story of a couple that trying to experiment the unproved parallel time and black-hole theories. They traveled to a town called Cesme for their research. But what they will face is much beyond the human mind.

Presented by a friend of Picasso in his later years, John Richardson, Picasso: The Full Story is an accessible and comprehensive look at the life of the most important artist of the 20th Century, examining the influences and the secrets behind many of the masterpieces he created. Televised previously on Channel 4 as Picasso: Magic, Sex and Death, the programme is divided into three parts.

Part 3: Death
Death (50 mins) charts the final stage in Picasso’s life from the war years in Paris through to his time in Antibes, his later involvement with the Communist Party, the Peace Movement and the years leading up to his death in 1973 at the age of 91. This is the period the presenter Richardson is most familiar with as it was the time he came to know Picasso, but there is surprisingly little personal reminiscence. The episode nevertheless covers well Picasso’s work and his relationship with the women in his life. These later years are marked with a struggle to remain vigorous and active against the encroaching spectre of death by keeping plenty of younger women around. Francoise Gilot, his lover and 40 years his junior at the time, contributes to this section with comments on the work he created in his later years, on the paintings that show the joy of life and the ceramics in which she is immortalised. His final works, revisiting and reworking the old masters, is also examined, along with his final years with Jacqueline Roque.

The director of Sue continues his exploration of the theme of lonely women lost in the big city with Fiona, which goes one step further and exposes the wasted lives of whores and junkies in New York. Fiona (Anna Thomson) was abandoned by her mother when she was six months old. She grew up in foster homes where she was abused and finally became a prostitute. She lives her life according to her own rules, without any qualms. After a fiasco with three cops in a restaurant, she hides out in a derelict building where drug addicts squat. By now she is thirty-one years old. She meets another woman, Anita (Felicia Maguire), who carries the scars of her life on the streets.

Catalan architect Antonio Gaudí (1852–1926) designed some of the world’s most astonishing buildings, interiors, and parks; Japanese director Hiroshi Teshigahara constructed some of the most aesthetically audacious films ever made. Here their artistry melds in a unique, enthralling cinematic experience. Less a documentary than a visual poem, Teshigahara’s Antonio Gaudí takes viewers on a tour of Gaudí’s truly spectacular architecture, including his massive, still-unfinished masterpiece, the Sagrada Familia cathedral in Barcelona. With camera work as bold and sensual as the curves of his subject’s organic structures, Teshigahara immortalizes Gaudí on film.

Tobe, an awkward teenage aficionado of 1980s soft-core, borrows his grandfather's used Weinermobile to see his sexual… idol perform at a strip club in Indiana. After defending her against ruffians who taunt the aging erotic starlet off the stage, he struggles to negotiate his romantic impulses with the reality of her trailer-park lifestyle.

Cohan, who produced, directed, wrote and starred in his own musical shows for which he composed his famous songs.

Kouta is a student just getting started with college. He’s looking forward to living in his own house, reuniting with his cousin Yuuka, and generally living an uneventful life. But plans change as one evening at the beach, they find a strange, naked girl with horns growing from her head. She has no memory of who she is, and can’t even speak, so naturally, they take her in. “Nyuu,” as they call her, has a dark, terrible secret. She’s actually a Diclonius, a human with special destructive powers. A powerful organization is trying to hunt her down, but Kouta’s strangely protective attitude towards Nyuu gets him and Yuuka entangled in mystery, intrigue, melodrama, and lots and lots of bloody murder.
