If Wacken shows Deep Purple's performance in front of a huge rock audience, playing as if they had to leave all their habits behind, the Tokyo show is presenting Deep Purple completely at ease with their history and themselves. On the very same venue where the band has written rock history with the album “Made In Japan”, Deep Purple went on stage without nostalgia and with the attitude of a band that is physically led by the music, making playing a perfect show look as the most natural thing one could do. Song after song, Purple play a flawless show going back and forth in time…
Part of Universal's Authorized Bootleg series, this album captures Cinderella at the peak of their success, giving a New Years Eve concert at the Tokyo Dome in Japan. The audience is in a jubilant mood and so is the band, partying to ring in the new year and to celebrate their second hit album, Heartbreak Station…
With the inevitable heat of summer already making itself at home, there’s few options so tempting as to roll down the windows and embrace the enthusiastic nostalgia of melodic rock brought by the uplifting graces of Tokyo Motor Fist and the vibrant charm of their latest album. “Lions” is so sweet and smooth that listening to it feels almost like a guilty indulgence, something that one would sneak a taste of alone in the kitchen by the blue light of an open fridge. Tokyo Tapes is the first live album by German hard rock band Scorpions and their final album released by RCA Records…
Had they not been undone by behind-the-scenes business bunglings of the tallest order, Tokyo Blade might have joined Iron Maiden, Def Leppard, and Saxon at the top of the New Wave of British Heavy Metal heap, instead of barely sniffing at their heels.
