Richie Kotzen

"24 Hours" marks Richie Kotzen's 23rd album since 1989 – including a live album, one under the banner of Wilson Hawk, one with Forty Deuce and two collaborations with Greg Howe. Throw in all the albums he did with Mr. Big, Poison, and Vertu, as well as 'Best Of' compilations, all the guest appearances and the tribute albums he has appeared on and the number exceeds 125… easily! Beyond sheer numbers, Kotzen's catalog of recorded material runs the gamut from hard rock, pop, blues, soul, funk, R&B and even country!

Richie Kotzen as guitarist and songwriter is what you'll find on his 2000 release, "Wave Of Emotion". You'll find a wealth of sounds on the CD from melodic, bluesy material to honest rock and roll in reminiscent of the Rolling Stones or the Black Crows. Of course, you get Kotzen's superb guitar work and wah-wah laden leads, and he handles all vocals, production and recording (drummer Atma Anur does assist on production on two track).

"Into The Black" is the twelfth album by guitarist/vocalist Richie Kotzen. It's the only Kotzen's album with a parental advisory sticker on it. The oh so talented guitarist Richie Kotzen channels early Led Zeppelin and 90's Soundgarden for a nostalgic trip through the sounds of classic Hard Rock.

"Change" is the tenth album by guitarist/vocalist Richie Kotzen. Richie Kotzen returns to a slightly more hard rock format on "Change", with strong songs, gutsy vocals and healthy doses of his own signature virtuoso guitar work. The collection of songs ranges from classic and melodic hard rock to acoustic interludes (the album includes also an unplugged reworking of the last Mr.Big hit, "Shine") and a short instrumental piece, "Unity (Jazz Bee Bop Instrumental)". Definitely his best solo album to date, "Change" will please both Mr. Big diehards and his existing solo career fan base. Everything on "Change" is written, performed and produced by Mr. Kotzen himself, except for help on drums on one track, and backing vocals on another.

"Electric Joy" was Richie Kotzen's third album for Shrapnel Records and documents his incredible growth as a musician. The album delivered a collection of original instrumental compositions rich in tasteful melodies and contemporary guitar techniques, that further cemented RK position in the music world as a guitarist's. For the first time, Kotzen was in the studio producing himself with complete creative control. Since he was preparing a vocal record for Interscope around the same time, he chose to make this an all instrumental record.

Smith/Kotzen is the musical collaboration between musicians Adrian Smith of Iron Maiden and Richie Kotzen who is a member of the Winery Dogs and also a solo artist in his own right. '

This started off as a request for John Mayer's Live : Great Guitar Performances with an add-on of Lick Library's Quick Licks for Richie Kotzen. I noticed I had quite a few odds and ends sitting around in need of a home so I thought, let's have a little fun with this torrent. Heck, it may even start a trend for other Guitar Giant Pairings. Don't ask me why these two got thrown together or start a flame war about who is the better player. They both play with their fingers. They are both the great at what they do. I guess that's enough though it's purely coencidental. Sorry about the lack of description on some of it. Some of this stuff is rare and there's no official package for it per se.
