Universal Music pay tribute to the short but prolific musical life of enigmatic Glasgow blues-rocker Alex Harvey with the biggest-ever, career-spanning, cross-label collection of his work. A total of 217 fully remastered tracks (with much of the material from the original master tapes) includes 21 that are previously unreleased, and a further 59 that are appearing officially on CD for the first time.

The Sauce Boss took his one-man band to Nashville to make his latest recording. On the title cut he is joined by violin, sousaphone, snare drum, and backing singers to tell the story of Blind Boy Billy, an irascible traveling fiddle player. The ragtime tune careens off the road into a down home fiddle stomp and ends up playing the blues away. Bill Wharton, aka "The Sauce Boss," takes a novel approach to blues performing, combining his love of cooking with his passion for gutsy guitar playing and singing. Wharton, who cooks up gumbo while on stage, is no flash in the pan, nor is his live act meant as some kind of cheap gimmickry; he is simply combining two things he's always loved to do: play music and cook dinner.

Kenny ‘Blues Boss’ Wayne is a veteran blues and boogie piano player, raised in New Orleans but a long-time Vancouver resident. In uenced by Fats Domino and Johnnie Johnson, Kenny has worked in the past with Joe Louis Walker, Delaney and Bonnie Bramlett, Billy Preston and members of Sly & The Family Stone. His bass-heavy boogie piano work and original songs makes for powerful live performances, enhanced by the sartorial splendor of his boldly colored, French custom-tailored stage suits. An Old Rock On A Roll, was produced by Duke Robillard who says, “He’s a monster pianist, a soulful singer, and he captures the essence of old school blues and boogie while sounding totally fresh and contemporary”.
