Nothing sums up Ian Gillan more, than Gillan’s Inn! Having decided to re-visit the classic songs by Deep Purple and his own solo career, Ian invited several of his friends to guest on the album including Joe Elliot (Def Leppard); Tony Iommi (Black Sabbath); guitarist Joe Satriani; Janick Gers (Iron Maiden); Uli Jon Roth (Scorpions), Johnny Rzeznik (Goo Goo Dolls), Ronnie James Dio (Dio), Steve Morse, Jeff Healey and the rest of Deep Purple.

Who could have predicted it? The Who in their sixties, singing 'Hope I die before I get old' to enthusiastic audiences spanning generations; Mick Jagger, with seven years already on his bus pass, snaking across the stage singing 'Let's spend the night together'; or a topless, leathery Iggy Pop growling 'Last year I was 21', before climbing the speaker stacks for a bit of mock fornication. Scenes that is at once incredibly odd, but undeniably powerful and inspiring.

The new album is full of Rockabilly rhythms mixed with more or less modern Rock'n'Roll rattles, some Blues orientated songs, some Country-influenced tracks, plus a ballad. And on top of it all is the wonderful voice of Sandy. Her singing has a strong resemblence with the vocal style of the late great Wanda Jackson. However, she’s singing in a way completely her own. Sandy has left her personal mark on every song.
