Well-known for his work with soul jazz legends and with groups based around the Hammond B-3 organ, this date is surprisingly Skaff's first recording in the past 30+ years leading a guitar trio alone without piano or organ. It's also special set for the legendary reunion of Carter and Heath who worked together with history making results in the early 60s on landmark recordings by pianist Bobby Timmons and by guitarist Wes Montgomery.

Throughout his illustrious career, the legendary Ron Carter has played it all jumping in headlong as an integral member of Miles Davis' classic 60s quintet, anchoring the groove for almost every CTI Records session in the 70s, then launching into multifarious new projects, including his cello-infused, chamber-jazz nonet and his piano-guitar-bass trio. But in his lifelong calling to find the right notes, Carter had never recorded a big-band album. So, the time was ripe for the 73-year-old maestro of the upright bass to break new ground. The result is the delightful and swinging album "Ron Carter's Great Big Band", set into motion by esteemed arranger Bob Freedman and Somerled Charitable Foundation trustee Wendy Macdonald (who serves as producer) and featuring an all-star cast of supporting musicians.

Ron Boots is the most well-known and successful electronic musician from The Netherlands.
Hearing the first notes of the title track it is not hard to hear Ron’ recognizable signature: innovative rhythms, great sequences nice solos and a lot of room for the finest sounds around. "Save It For A Rainy Day" shows the melodically side of Ron, almost like symphonic rock. In the epic "Well! So What?" (with 18:25 minutes one of the longest tracks he has ever recorded) Harold van der Heijden plays drums in the middle part. "Well! So What?" gives us some of the best Boots-sequences ever. "Giants Of Once Before" is a live recording from the Gruga Park in Essen, Germany of Ron together with his friends Harold van der Heijden and Kees Aerts. It is a rather melancholically piece with a driven solo.
"Close, But Not Touching" really sets new standards in melodically electronic music.

Besides that he is A&R manager at Andante Piano, sublabel of Disruptive Records run by his son Ivo Adelaar. After that, and now for already 37 years, Ron is a pianist and conductor of a choir in Amersfoort. His passion has always been to create his own contemporary compositions and share it with others. Because of the technical possibilities these days he’s finally able to share his own piano compositions with the rest of the world, all recorded in his home piano studio. Ron’s neoclassical piano compositions contribute to relax, meditate or to maintain concentration and focus during work.

Always one of the most in demand bassist and session men. He does not have a large body of work as a featured artist, but here you can catch him in a rare environment. This time he gets to lead and pick the tracks. A great find. This needs to be added to a serious jazz library, as the important jazz figure he is.

They could make it a lot easier for themselves, especially at their age and with their reputation. Play something so that people identify with them: easy-listening, swinging mainstream, or flowing music in the sound of musette. However, whoever knows the two partners in crime know only too well that they have searched for risks during their lives like adrenaline junkies, never approached the adventure of music from the safe side, but instead always wanted to go beyond their own horizon. Like two intrepid mountaineers, they balance over a yawning abyss, perform daring maneuvers and clear the way for each other time and again.

Screaming Whispers is a melodic creation from Ron Boots at Groove Unlimited. Boots builds his soundscapes with heavy sequences and dense atmospheres. He is an expert at combining Berlin school sequences and deep minimalism. The unique soundscapes are warm and comfortable. Boots has many unique characteristics in his soundworlds. The most important quality is the outright congeniality. These compositions invite listeners into Boots' soundscape to hang out and do whatever. He's just having fun and wants to share his joy with his listeners. Screaming Whispers takes that to the next level. Boots injects his massive soundscapes with virtuoso musicianship, ethnic influences, humor, and fun. He greets each listener personally and warmly. This CD will appeal to fans of Ian Boddy, Dweller at the Threshold, and Radio Massacre International.

"From The Forgotten Rooms Of A Lonely House" is a limited edition album of only 400 copies, offered as a free gift to visitors of the concerts held on December 30, 2011 and January 8th, 2012. The first three tracks on this album are live-pieces by the quartet MorPheuSz (Eric, Frank, Harold and Ron).
Compared too the mellow "Garden Gomblins…" album, the band here plays more dynamic and melodic/progessive music, including glowing versions of "Another Timeroom" and "Da Capo".
The other four tracks are solo creations by Ron Boots created in his own studio, kicking off with the beautiful, slightly dark space music of "Lost Stars"…
