Spanish guitarist David Clavijo was born in Seville in 1983 and began playing music at an early age, writing pop songs as a teenager and later contributing bass to film soundtracks. After traveling extensively, Clavijo was inspired by nature and foreign cultures, and began composing ethnic-influenced new age music. The Landing EP arrived in 2009, and Clavijo's songs appeared on several chillout and Ibiza lounge compilations. The Landing was released as a special edition full-length in 2010, and was named one of the top albums of the year by several new age publications. Although more Grandmix editions have been made like the 80's and 90's editions, this marks the 28th annual Grandmix and is broadcasted on Radio 538. Unfortunately some foreign record companies consider the Grandmix as just another compilation license request. Their lack of knowledge of DJ and mix history sometimes leaves them stuck in unnecessary restricting company policies. All Dutch dance related companies are no problem, as most of the people working there got into the dance music business because of the early Grandmixes. Armada, Spinnin' and News are absolutly fabulous in their cooperation for which I, in return, am very greatful.
