"Live – Stompin' at the Savoy" is an album by American R&B/funk band Rufus with singer Chaka Khan, released on the Warner Bros. Records label in 1983. "Stompin' at the Savoy" was a double-record set featuring three sides of live material recorded at The Savoy in New York which sees the band reunited with Chaka Khan and performing all their biggest hits as well as "What Cha' Gonna Do for Me" from Khan's 1981 solo album of the same name. The fourth side of the album included four new studio recordings of which two were released as singles, "Ain't Nobody" and "One Million Kisses". "Ain't Nobody", written by the band's keyboardist David "Hawk" Wolinski, became Rufus' final #1 R&B hit, reached #22 on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart, also won them a Grammy Award for Best R&B Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal in 1984 and has since come to be regarded as one of Khan's own signature tunes - although it in fact was recorded with Rufus.

"Destiny" is the 6th studio album by American R&B/funk singer Chaka Khan, released on Warner Bros. Records in 1986. "Destiny" was Khan's follow-up to the platinum-selling "I Feel for You" and was as high tech as its predecessor - symptomatically and characteristically for its period with more producers and sound engineers credited in the liner notes than musicians - but was musically more geared towards rock and pop than soul and R&B, most prominently on tracks such as "So Close", the self-penned title track "My Destiny", "Who's It Gonna Be" and "Watching the World" featuring Phil Collins on drums and backing vocals.

The album, which was released as a double-record set, on CD and as a limited cassette edition with one bonus track, comprises remixes made in the styles of late 1980s dance music genres like house music, hip hop and acid house of tracks originally recorded between the years 1978 and 1984, including two from Rufus & Chaka Khan's final album Stompin' at the Savoy – Live: "Ain't Nobody" and "One Million Kisses".

Rufus featuring Chaka Khan and Rufus & Chaka Khan. It doesn't really matter what name is used because the result is the same: solid grooves, arresting melodies, and the overwhelming vocals of Chaka Khan. This album spawned a Top Five Billboard R&B hit with "Stay," a song with a moderate tempo and a very humble beginning that bows to an explosive plea from Khan. It reached number three on the charts after 18 weeks. "Blue Love" has that seesaw rhythm that swings from midtempo to uptempo but is controlled by Khan's delivery. It slipped into the Top 40 at number 34 in a short nine weeks. This project could have easily supported additional releases with songs like the engaging "Stranger to Love," the jazzy "Destiny," and "Best of Your Heart."

"Rufus" is the debut album by American R&B and funk band Rufus, released on the ABC Records label in 1973 fronted by singers Chaka Khan and Ron Stockert. The album is notable for an upbeat rock/soul sound that would be replaced by a more heavy direction into funk and jazzy-styled recordings. The album reached #44 on Billboard's R&B Album and #175 on Pop and included the single releases "Feel Good" (R&B #45) and "Whoever's Thrilling You (Is Killing Me)" (#40). Shortly after this album's release and struggling with the group's slow climb to success, Stockert would leave the band during sessions of the group's next album, "Rags to Rufus". By then, Chaka Khan's role would be updated and as the group became successful in later years, most of the focus of the band would lay solely on Khan's shoulders.

"C.K." is the 7th studio album by American R&B/funk singer Chaka Khan, released on the Warner Bros. Records label in 1988. "C.K." was Khan's first album not to be recorded with Arif Mardin, instead it had with the exception of two tracks Russ Titelman at the helm as producer, with whom she had collaborated on hits like "Ain't Nobody" (1983), "Eye to Eye" from 1984's platinum-selling I Feel for You as well as "Tight Fit" from her previous album "Destiny". Musically "C.K." combined a variety of genres such as soul, R&B, funk, pop as well as two jazz titles and altogether the set was more laid-back, less hip-hop influenced and production-wise not as complex and synth-driven as "I Feel for You" and "Destiny". Three singles were released from "C.K.": Womack & Womack's Latino-flavoured "It's My Party" which reached #5 on Billboard's R&B Singles chart, "Soul Talkin'" and "Baby Me" which became another Top 10 hit on the R&B chart, peaking at #8. The ck album itself also charted higher than the preceding "Destiny", reaching #17 on the R&B Albums chart.

"Dance Classics of Chaka Khan" is a compilation album of recordings by American R&B/funk singer Chaka Khan released on the Warner Bros. Records label in Japan in 1999. As the title suggests the compilation mainly focuses on the dancefloor friendly part of Khan's repertoire from the late 1970s to mid 1980s, including classic single cuts like "I'm Every Woman", "Fate", "Eye To Eye", "Clouds", "I Feel for You" as well as album tracks like "Pass It On (Sure Thing)" and "A Woman in a Man's World". Dance Classics is however mainly notable for the inclusion of two rarities: the original 12" Long Vocal Mix and 12" Instrumental Version of the 1982 hit single "Tearin' It Up", both mixed by legendary D.J. Larry Levan and as yet only available on this compilation.
