Juno-nominated pianist and composer Rafael Zaldivar has announced a new studio album called RUMBA that features guest performances by Terri Lyne Carrington, Ingrid Jensen, Kurt Rosenwinkel and Miguel Zenón.

The Rumba Foundation is Jesse Cook's eighth studio album and one of his best. He introduces new features like two very short tracks with flamenco guitar improvisations, and for the first time he plays a rendition of a well known hit of Simon & Garfunkel, "Cecilia", with vocals by the very popular canadian singer - songwirter, Jeremy Fisher. This collaboration contributed very much to the huge success of this album, in the canadian audience. "The rumba foundation", is a spectacular and uplifting album, for any nouveau flamenco lover. Latin rhythms have infiltrated every branch of popular music, but none has had such a wide ranging influence as the rumba. It is this rhythm, combined with the New Orleans second line beat that formed the basis of the Stax and Motown sound and the more complex rhythms of funk in the 1960s.
