Ryan Harris

Singer-songwriter and producer David Ryan Harris isn't quite a household name, but he’s certainly not a fledgling artist. Since forming funk-metal outfit Follow For Now in the late ‘80s, the Atlanta-bred, LA-based musician has spent the majority of his time either onstage or in the studio. In recent years, he’s primarily manoeuvred behind the scenes, co-writing a string of hits with Guy Sebastian and teaming up with the likes of John Mayer and India.Arie. Harris is now ready to bring attention back to himself, with a new solo album Light Years due later in the year.

What would you do if you had to change high schools right before your senior year? What would you do if you went from being one of the popular to being one of the bullied? Ryan Harris is forced to change schools when her step-dad accepts a job two hours away from her home town of Kansas City. In KC everyone knows that Ryan is the daughter of starting pitcher for the KC Critters Tyler Yates. Now that Ryan is in Temple she decided to keep her famous dad to herself and make her way through high school the same as every other teenage girl. What Ryan was not prepared for was Bradley Thomas Brad is the starting pitcher for Temple High and the reining king of the school, who has lost his pitching edge.

The son of pop singer Marion Ryan began performing with his twin brother Paul at the age of 16. In 1965 they signed a recording contract with Decca under the name of Paul & Barry Ryan. Within two years they had amassed 8 Top 50 singles in the UK. Their best sellers were "Don't Bring Me Your Heartaches", a #13 hit in 1965, "I Love Her", a #17 hit in 1966 and "Have Pity on the Boy", a #18 hit the same year. In 1967, Paul was 19 and attended a party held by Richard Harris shortly after he recorded MacArthur Park. This party caused a revelation that changed Paul's life, and he soon wrote his first song "Eloise", which was a huge hit in the following year. Barry credits Harris for the life changing event.
