She was born in Cessnock, New South Wales, to a creative family, and trained as a classical pianist. In 2015 Fiona contributed to a GRAMMY-winning album and traversed three continents, performing solo for a tour of China where she has been nicknamed 'The Piano Angel', not just for her romantic, melodic songs and lush arrangements, but also for her gracious and mesmerizingly ballet-like performance style in concert. A prolific composer, she has always been interested in creating music that evokes images, emotions and stories. Fiona describes her distinctive style and glorious voice as New Age and cites Bolero's Ravel as one of her most powerful musical inspirations…

They are relocated to London, United Kingdom in 1982 and signed with 4AD Records where they disbanded in 1998. Dead Can Dance combine elements of European folk music - particularly music from the Middle Ages and the Renaissance - with ambient pop and worldbeat flourishes. Their songs are of lost beauty, regret and sorrow, inspiration and nobility, and of the everlasting human goal of attaining a meaningful existence. Dead Can Dance catalogue was remastered by Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab and re-released in June 2008, initially on hybrid stereo SACDs. This reissue series includes eight albums and the Garden of the Arcane Delights EP.

When the Scorpions finally broke through to the mainstream in 1982, RCA released numerous compilations of the band's earlier work from the '70s. By no means should one think The Best of the Scorpions is for diehards only – the music here is quite enjoyable. RCA would go on to release several more Scorpions compilations (Best Of, Vol. 2, Hot & Heavy, Best of Rockers 'n' Ballads, etc.), but the original Best Of is still the wisest purchase.

Along the way, the group racked up a string of gold and platinum albums in the U.S., along with a number of radio hits like "Listen to the Music", "Black Water", and "China Grove".

Telarc's seventh SACD multi - genre sampler is a great tool for reaching out to the consumer and providing a selection of jazz, pop, crossover and world music in surround. Continuing in the Telarc and Heads Up tradition, this sampler is hybrid - playable on standard CD players as well as SACD players. This sampler features music from several of the more popular Telarc and Heads Up SACD releases of the past several years. The sampler kicks off with the big band sound, in a really big way, as Randy Brecker is joined by his late brother Michael on the "Some Skunk Funk." Other offerings include soul legend Ray Charles singing the classic "Oh What a Beautiful Morning," and hot new bassist Esperanza Spalding with Fourplay on "Prelude for Lovers," and much more.
