Live In Koln 1979. In The Shadow Of The Dom is already the third release in the series presenting unique SBB concerts from the 1970s. This time we propose one of the series of three appearances in Cologne that they had venue in September 1979. It is a concert full of spontaneity and improvisation - a unique opportunity to hear the band at their peak, giving up playing their most famous pieces for an hour and a half of musical story - composed hot. Live In Koln 1979. In The Shadow Of The Dom will surprise all progressive rock fans - it is rare to find such lightness in creating the mood and playing with colors and sounds.
The concert recorded at the "Pop Session '77" festival in Sopot on July 26, 1977 is a real treat! After all, SBB is a trio (although in history, of course, the line-up has been expanded to include additional musicians, for example Sławek Piwowar), but SBB in… duo is not only a phenomenon, but an amazing challenge. This tape was found almost miraculously (hence, perhaps in the fragments of the recordings, the quality is slightly worse, but it is the only surviving recording of SBB as a duo).
The legendary tour, the most progressive hits and extended, startling improvisations. The first of SBB Danish concerts from 1979, is now finally released on CD to open “Live Cuts” series which will present the concert adventures of the band. In May 1979, SBB gave five concerts which have stirred great emotions among the band’s fans to this day. The short Danish tour, whose parts would later be broadcast by the Polish Radio, opened a new chapter for SBB and helped the band catch the wind in its sails after several months of relative inactivity.
A concert-legend, presented on Polish Radio in the 1970s and later released on record. Now it’s back in a remastered and considerably extended version, closing the history of SBB’s Swedish adventure in 1975. The most famous Polish rock trio in its best possible form.
SBB is one of the most important Polish bands of the seventies. This band, rightfully listed in the eclectic progressive genre, mainly plays a hybrid of symphonic prog, space/atmospheric prog and fusion.
A few art rock tinged exceptions aside, what SBB offers up with "Blue Trance" is a slice of high quality craftsmanship in the melodic rock department, sophisticated soft rock a description that should describe the contents in an easily understandable manner. A CD to pick up if you enjoy timeless classics of the kind classic rock oriented radio stations prefer to fill the airwaves with; more advanced musically, but adhering to that style of music to a much greater extent than progressive rock per se.

SBB (Search, Break-up, Build) returns with its 2009 studio album of impassioned progressive rock. Like a hybrid of Pink Floyd and Genesis, SBB’s airy sound is richly textured, with soulful guitar work, fluid keyboards, and gentle yet intricate percussion. Each track on Iron Curtain is bursting with searing emotion and breathtaking technical prowess.

Gentle, dampened details and carefully explored themes with partially contrasting expressions are the dominating traits of this self-titled production by Polish veterans SBB. A few pacier, energetic excursions showcase a band that still can produce the unexpected and more adventurous breed of music if they feel like it, but at least at this stage it would appear that exploring careful nuances is more at the heart of the band's current inclinations. A well made piece of art rock to be enjoyed by existing fans and those who prefer their art rock to be of a dampened, refined nature.
This concert recorded on July 22, 1978 offers around 90 minutes of SBB at its best. Although you know a large part of the material and its presentation mainly from other appearances from the same year, anyone who deals more intensively with the Polish progressive rockers knows that there is always room for extensive improvisations. The trio Józef Skrzek (vocals, keyboards), Apostolis Anthimos (guitar, drums) and Jerzy Piotrowski (drums) relies above all on an extensive keyboard arsenal, a lot of atmosphere and sometimes fast-paced play, even the grandiose introduction with the indestructible instrumental "Walkin' Around The Stormy Bay" is picking up speed. 70s classics or longtracks such as "Ze Słowem Biegnę Do Ciebie", "Going Away" or "Follow My Dream" are presented on stage with much more energetic and playful passion…
