TAPIR est un quartet qui développe un univers musical singulier à la croisée du jazz, des musiques traditionnelles et de l’improvisation. Mené par des musiciens issus d’univers musicaux différents, ce projet a l’ambition de proposer une voix originale qui interroge les rapports entre écriture et improvisation, savant et populaire, tradition et modernité. Inspirées d’une Méditerranée largement imaginaire, les compositions font la part belle aux recherches modales et aux rythmes asymétriques qui deviennent le terrain de jeu des improvisateurs. Le quartet acoustique saxophones/piano/zarb/contrebasse laisse parfois la place à un univers plus électrique marqué par les textures du Fender rhodes et le groove puissant de la basse électrique alliée à la batterie.

Compiled by Spencer Hickman and Mark McQuillan for Two-Piers Lounge Psychédélique (The Best of Lounge and Exotica 1954-2022) is the third instalment in the Psychédélique Compilation series on Two-Piers, following the critically acclaimed Pop Psychédélique (The Best of French Psychedelic Pop 1964-2019) and Garage Psychédélique (The Best of Garage Psych and Pzyk Rock 1965-2019).

Mat Kearney's self-titled LP is the most honest and raw he's ever been. Described as "the soundtrack for a drive into mountains or a beach hang with friends," Kearney's growth as an artist is evident as this album sees him take on more of the production; writing and producing some songs solely on his own. His growth isn't limited to his solo production, it also lead him to collaborate in ways he hadn't done before. Having The Brook & The Bluff play on a handful of these songs, Mat said "it was the first time I felt like I was in a band." The overall vision for the album kept it simple. Real instruments and honest performances, similar to the early days of Kearney's career.
