Hard Rock
"Between the light" is the ninth studio effort of AOR/melodic hard rock producer Paul Sabu originally released in 1998. On this solo effort Sabu focuses on lead vocals accompanied by guitar hero Angel Schleifer (ex-`Bonfire', ex-`Sinner',), bassist Joerg Deisinger while drums are recorded by Derek Smith and Tony Montana. Those who have followed Sabu's releases rightfully reference `Whitesnake' as the primary musical influence regarding the singer's artistic direction; as he very much sound like a mixture of David Coverdale and Kip Winger while the contribution of Angel definitely recreates a good part of `Whitesnake's' style of riffage, melodic guitar lines and solos; add to that the lyrical themes spanning from mere romanticism to `cat-and-mouse' relationships and you get a genuine 80s oriented hard rock album.
