Eugene Ormandy (November 18, 1899 – March 12, 1985) was a Hungarian-born conductor and violinist who became internationally famous as the music director and conductor of the Philadelphia Orchestra. The maestro's 44-year-long association with the Philadelphia is one of the longest enjoyed by any conductor with a single orchestra. Under his baton, the Philadelphia had three gold records and won two Grammy Awards.

Raphaël, auteur-compositeur-interprète et producteur, n'a que 24 ans, en 2000, lorsqu'il sort son premier album Hôtel de l'Univers. Raphaël Haroche est né à Paris, d'un père russe et d'une mère argentine. Tout petit, dès cinq ans, il apprend le piano et la guitare et à l'adolescence commence à écrire et composer. Son bac en poche, Raphaël s'inscrit en hypokhâgne, y reste trois jours et file à la fac de Droit. Influencé par Noir Désir, David Bowie ou Jacques Brel, Raphaël décide d'arrêter ses études et de se consacrer à sa passion qu'est la musique. Il rencontre alors Caroline Manset, (la fille du chanteur Gérard Manset), qui devient son manager. Le duo se met au travail pour mettre en forme ce qui deviendra son premier album. Avec sa première maquette sous le bras, Raphaël va directement voir EMI, qui est séduit par le projet et qui le signe, dans la foulée. Résultat des courses Hôtel de l'Univers, une première livraison qui oscille entre rock et pop, illustrée par des textes engagés ou tout simplement réels, entre philosophie et poésie. ..
