After a long period out of the limelight, hints of Sam Bush's public re-emergence were displayed in 2015's award-winning documentary Revival: The Sam Bush Story. Now with Storyman, his first studio recording in seven years, he's fully present again. This is something of an anomaly in Bush's catalog. He calls it his "singer-songwriter" album, but it's free of any negative connotations that term might suggest. Cut over four years in Nashville and Florida, he produced this set and co-wrote all 11 songs with friends including Guy Clark, Jon Randall Stewart, Jeff Black, Emmylou Harris, and Deborah Holland, as well as his bandmates.

Bassist Edgar Meyer, equally at home in Nashville or Lincoln Center, likes to invite his classical friends to mix with his country friends in performances of his hybrid brand of bluegrass chamber music. In SHORT TRIP HOME, he has assembled a team long on bow arms. Featured are guitarist Mike Marshall and mandolin player Sam Bush, both of whom double on fiddle, and star violinist Joshua Bell, the name above the title, who not only fits well into the proceedings, but soars right above them when the occasion calls for it.

Accomplice Two shares the same exuberance, diversity, and sense of adventure as the first album, with a great range of artists. This album features rock legends Michael McDonald, Jorma Kaukonen, and Little Feat; bluegrass superstars such as Billy Strings, The Del McCoury Band, Sam Bush, Jerry Douglas, Sierra Hull, and David Grisman; country icons such as Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Jamey Johnson, and Raul Malo; and guitar heavyweights like Yasmin Williams, Larry Campbell, and Richard Smith.
